I got chlanydia 2 months ago, I was treated by doxycyclin (Dotur) for 1 1/2 month + an anti-inflammatory (Brexin)...I did a blood test last week that showed I'm totally cured, so the physician asked me to stop the treatment and said I am almost cured. I still feel very slight pain in the balls, it's been one week already, and that s it.
So do you think it is normal to happen? Is it safe to wait, and will it relieve by itself with time, without going on with my treatment? I am a bit worried, please drop a word! thx a lot friends...

Worried.....I got Chlamydia last year and I had to take several antibiotics. The symptoms stayed with me for a couple or more weeks after I was done with the Antibiotics. I had symptoms like burning during urination and testicular pain. You just have to forget about it and one day you'll realize that your symptoms are gone. You'll be ok.

yeah, i'm worried about this too. i took my one-time dose of azithromycin a week and 3 days ago, and i'm afraid i still feel symptoms. i feel a little itchy and i'm experiencing a little bit of an ache in my abdominal area. i keep worrying that i have some other STD too, but the doctor checked me for gonorrhea and said i was negative. so i'm wondering if maybe the chlamydia is just taking a little more time to completely clear up ...
i intend to make another appointment to be re-tested but it takes a while to get an appointment at the clinic. it'll probably be 3 weeks before they'll see me, and i don't want to make myself sick worrying til then.

i was treated for chlamydia months ago with azithromycin & you're supposed to wait a week until you can be sexually active again.i didn't have any symptoms for this STD and my bf didn't even get it! i'm still wondering why he didn't get it when it is an STD... but he took the medicine i took bec. i forced him to go get checked.. heh

i hope u guys still read these cause i have a question..... i was diagnosed with chlamydia at the end of march... was on antibiotics for 7 days plus a shot ...... finished my meds on april 9th, and went to be re-tested april 23rd..... and the test still shows it's positive in spite of the antibiotic treatment AND me not having ANY symptoms anymore...... they went away a couple days after i started the meds...... so, now i have 2 weeks this time of meds to take..... also.. in the midst of this mess i became pregnant... and was wondering if that's lending a hand in me not being cured yet....
please help !!!!!

Make sure that your partner is also treated for Chlamydia or you could get re-infected. The clinic should also check for other STD's because those symptoms could be something else. It could just be yeast! Call your healthcare provider for a reck.

although we're no longer together now, i did have sex with him WITH a condom while i was on my meds and he had just started that day...... but, i would think a condom would've prevented anything coming back to me, and i was still on my meds...... also, i was checked for every other possible std which were all negative... how could yeast be showing up as a positive chlamydia culture??? all of this was done at my gyn/ob's office.... so, it's someone i really trust..... but, i'm really struggling with why after treatment it's still showing positive.... do u think seeing i was still on my meds, and he was probably still infected that a condom did no use??? or what other factor is causing this not to go away ?? i'm now on 2 weeks of meds...and DEFINITELY not having sex with anyone...

by the way.... i DID have symptoms, which caused me to go to the doctor to begin with...... but, after my first treatment of doxycycline of 7 days..... ALL the symptoms subsided..... they're gone.... and i know u can have this without symptoms, but seeing i had symptoms to begin with u would think i'd still have symptoms if i'm still having a positive culture.....

I have been taking Doxycycline for approx. three days now to treat Chlamydia. Is it normal to have cramping (not stomach cramps)?

I didn't have any cramping with the meds..... my symptoms seemed to subside right after starting the meds...... could be normal to have cramps.. my abdomen was very tender...(one of the symptoms) however, i was on the meds for 7 days , retested 2 weeks later.... and it was still showing positive.... so, he put me on the meds for another 2 weeks..... i go again in about a week to be retested again..... at the end of the 2 weeks of meds, i did start getting reactions to the medication... but, it was just side effects from the meds.... anyway, i'd call my doc if i were u if you're concerned about it.... i know how incredibly frustrating this is.... i'm so anxious to just get a clean bill of health so i can just stop this insanity..... std's suck !!! this whole dilemma has been since march 26th... that's 2 months of pure hell.....
anyway, call your doc if you think somethings wrong.... apparently, i was told by my doc, that doxycycline is the med to rid chlamydia.... why it didn't work on me the first time i don't know.... but, i've heard of people being on this for a month to get rid of chlamydia...... how long are you on it for???
