I just recently found out that I have Genital Warts. I am in a new relationship, and I was so scared to tell my partner (we haven't even had sex yet) because I was worried that this would scare them away. I also have Herpes. Well, I told the love of my life that I have both viruses. It went very well, and he totally accepted it. All my worrying for nothing! But, I do have a question. Are Genital Warts transmitable if I am not having an outbreak, I mean, if I have no warts at the time, can I still pass them on to him? Because, I believe with herpes, you can pass it on whether you have a lesion or not, if you are a carrier, or so I heard. Is this the case with Genital Warts? Any responses would be appreciated, thanks.

Your situation sounds like mine. My girlfriend told me that she has warts and herpes. It didn't change a thing for me. The answer to your question is that yes it can be transmitted even if you have no visible signs of warts. Sometimes they don't show up so you can see them but the virus can be there on your skin. If there are no signs of an outbreak the odds of transmission is much less. ALso the longer it has been since your last outbreak decreases the odds greatly too. My girlfiend hasn't had an outbreak of either one for over 5 yrs so that certainly reduces the odds of me getting them. So far anyway I haven't had any problems or symtoms.
