Hi, I am in my fifth week of Aldara treatment and thus far I've seen no change. This is expected, as I read that often it takes an average of 12 weeks for results.

I also have experienced no side effects yet....no burning, or dryness, or anything else for that matter. I was wondering when other people using the product experienced any kind of 1) side effects 2) results

I want to keep with the treatment, but the warts are annoying and I want to freeze them off.....but they keep coming back, so I'm hoping that Aldara will get them to not come back, or at least less frequently.

Consider your lucky because aldara has caused me so much pain. Imagine rug burns down there. I'M in so much pain. My advice is to keep up with treatment and if you see no results go try something else. Are they getting smaller? my warts seem to be getting smaller and I'm on the 10th week.

I wonder if you remove a wart and place aldara on the wound would that stop the wart from coming back?

They have only gotten bigger of late(since my last cryo which shortly after i started aldara...even afew more popped up).

I'm in the middle of weeek 5, so hopefully I will see something....anything, even a side effect....so I don't feel like I'm using this and it has no effect.

The ones that are there right now, I'm really temped to get them frozen off so they will go away....and then keep using the Aldara....but I as well do not know if this would work(especially putting it on the wound...that seems like a bad idea to me)

Anyone else have any information?

I have had HPV for about 2 years now.
I have gone through different treatments, had different advice from different doctors.
The acid treatments were only temporary relif for me, and the warts would come back after a few weeks of being clean.
I read about Aldara online and decided to go to the doctor and bring it up to her. Before Aldara I was told that if the acid treatments were not working than there was nothing I could do. Just live with it.
When I told a new physician my interest in Aldara she immidiately helped me out.

In the begining it was pretty easy, not much pain, but I didn't see much improvement either. But the doctor had warned me, this treatment, although very effective for some can take a long time to work.
And then, yes, there was pain. Sometimes it hurt SO bad. I could bearly walk or sit. Most everything was uncomfortable for a few weeks or so. But as the medicine was working the warts became smaller and eventually went away.
Since Aldara I have been wart-free for almost a year and a half.

It's an alternative. It worked for me. It wasn't the most pleasant way, but I don't think there is such a thing as a pleasant way to treat any STD.

Hope your treatment goes well.=)
