I have had itching for god knows how long... Last i can remember, it started around December 2000. So I got fed up and went to the doctor, who was 99% sure it was a yeast infection, but when she came back from looking at it through a microscope, she had no clue what it was.
Here's the deal:
It's usually only itchy in the morning (on the labia, not inside the vagina), it feels kind of dry and gritty from discharge (which i apparently have a lot of). It's *really* hard not to scratch in the shower, because when i try to get out the gritty discharge, i touch the area and have to scratch it. I've tried just using the shower head to clean it out, but even the water shooting out irritates it (my shower has good pressure). After i clean the area, it stings and i can't pee for hours afterwards or else i hurt myself. It only hurts after i scratch, mind you. During the rest of the day, everything's fine except for the stinging. I use pantiliners 24/7 because of my heavy discharge. I've found that the symptoms aren't as bad if i shower at night, don't use a pantiliner, and then shower again in the morning. This is a pain in the ass.
Anyone else had to deal with this?

Sounds like I used to be. Mine turned out to be what I call diaper rash lol. Discharge and pantyliners or undies stay wet and irratate the outer vagina. Drove me nuts for a long time. I used to douche once a week to get rid of some of the discharge but your not supposed to more than once a week or I would. That took care of some of the problem hope it works for you.

You may be allergic to the soap in the shower(I ONLY use plain white Dove.....not even the sensitive stuff...just regular) or laundry detergent/bleach/fabric softener you are using on your panties. Or the pantyliner (esp if it has deodorant scent). I would STOP using one of these at a time( for 3 weeks) and try to determine what it is. Or at least to rule these things out. Too much douching is BAD for you. If any at all, my doc says NOT more than a warm water douche with maybe a very, very small amount of vinegar in it once a month. Try to skip underwear at all times for now when possible. If unable to skip during the day then skip just at bedtime ( not gonna work while aunt flo is here--period). I try to go without panties when at home to keep it all aired out. I know this is weird for some, but you get used to it and the air is good for that skin/area that is always warm and moist. I am not a doc, but this is what works for me and most of the other women i know. Also watch your diet and try to eat/drink things that are good for those ares of your body that are giving you trouble. WATER, water, water and cranberry juice, yogurt and the such. Take care and hope it gets better soon.
