This is probably a ridiculous question, but I would just like to confirm it.

I just found out yesterday that my roomate has been using my bathroom towel. This worries me because she is promiscuous and I was wondering if there was any way of getting and STD (herpes, genital warts?) this way?

nope you can not dont worry about it... the only thing that you can catch from towels clothes etc is scabies... that you will know you have as you will be itching everywhere... it isnt serious it can be cured using a cream.. :)

Also remember if the towel is moist often there is a slight chance it can harbor some STDs like herpies for a very short time. So be safe use your own towel.

yes tru you can still catch herpies this way... you need to tell your mate to stop using your stuff.... it isnt safe.. if you dont trust your mate then i wouldnt share nothing..

Gonerea (spelling is off sorry) is worse.....it is so contagious that if you touch it (the infected area) and touch your eye then your eye is infected.......

There is a good lesson when mom's say, "NEVER use anybody elses stuff"........

But really dont stress out on it......to relieve yourself why dont you go get checked out after so many weeks after contact and see if you caught anything....and if not then you got lucky.....

Hi, I'm not really sure about other STD's...but yes, it is possible to get herpes, but not likely. For this to happen, your roommate would probably need to be having an outbreak, or a coldsore on the lip, and dry the outbreak/cold sore area with the towel, and then you use the towel while it was still damp. After the towel has dried, there should be no virus left, as viruses such as HSV die upon contact with air, but can live in warm moist environments for a while. So, I wouldn't worry too much about using your towell in the past, but I would definately have a talk with her. It's always better to be safe than sorry. I hope this helps, and good luck with the roommate situation. That is very rude of her to use your things...especially your towel!
