First of all let me say that I'm so glad to find this Board... My question relates to advanced HIV and HPV, I was recently diagnosed with PCP and HIV when admitted to a local hospital last October. Currently undergoing HAART treatment and its going well my viral load is already undetectable and my low CD4 count of 28 should begin to rise within a few months. I now show no physical signs of the disease except for an HPV outbreak in the groin area, I show no signs of HPV directly on the shaft of my penis however. I am a competitive bodybuilder so I do shave the groin area so I'm not sure if that may be a contributer to the location of the outbreak. My doctor has just presribed Aldara about 2 weeks and is causing the warts to inflame, itch and burn. My doc says that is a normal side effect because the cream is using my immune system to fight the outbreak.

What I'd like to know is.... Are there any alternative
treatments that are applied topically but with fewer side effects than Aldara. If anything the warts look worse now than before my Aldara treatment!! So I'm considering stopping its use all together. Slight visible warts look better than red inflammed itchy ones.

Does anyone know if Condysil works better and most importantly, without the inflammed itchy red problems?

Any input is appreciated ...... Thanks

I have heard both good and bad on both meds. I know it works diffrently on the meds you mentioned. I read on another board that people that had problems with one meds changed and it seemed to work better and Vs.

I have HPV too however I only endured 1 singlar wart that I had the doctor cut off, so I cant PERSONALLY say which one works better for me. Like I said the effects works diffrently on diffrent people. I heard good and bad on both meds. I must say DO NOT stop using the treatment in the long run it could get really bad if it isnt treated. You have to be persistent on removing the warts if and when they appear. Take multi-vitimans to build up your immune system also.
