It is impossible to tell who you got it from (if it is that)........HPV lives under the skin and most times dont show no symptoms at all, but still can pass it through sexual contact without even realizing it (that is why it is so contagious). the only symptoms of is the warts and with abnormal papsmers.
my last sexual partner was over a year ago. my last check up was over a year ago and I was clean didnt have this at all, but just a couple of weeks ago, I got a growth removed and found out it was a wart, and that I have HPV (only in the anus....here is the funny thing I NEVER had sex in the back door before)....
The doctor told me that I could have had it for many many years and finally devoloped the symptom (wart)....
I wouldnt worry too much about it though.....wait til you get the results...and if it is so that it comes out that it is HPV dont stress about it...tell your partner (it is more than likely he has it too) and realize 80 percent have HPV and two thirds devolpe the symptoms......it is NOT the end of the world.....
If I were you just dont worry .....I stress out so bad that I devoloped boils on my face (the doc says it is from stressing out).....
just take it one day at a time.......first find out what it is...and then take it from there.

You welcome.
You know before I found out that I had HPV I didnt have this understanding of it. I knew OF it, but I guess since I have it I have a better understanding.
I hope you are doing well and good.

New to this site and very excited.
I was also diagnosed with HPV after having abnormal papsmear, but i have no visible signs whatsoever.. I had culposcopy and told that I have high risk HPV. However, I didn't get any medication and was told to come back after 6 months.
I have read all the articles about hpv but still, can't get enough of it. My boyfriend has visible wart and gets treated everytime he has one. I want to start a family but am worried if I can have virus free babies. I know its common disease but when you have it, it seems to be very difficult to handle.
Any suggestions?

-If HPV is found on the cervix, does that mean that another person could catch it if only external contact was made?
-If a woman infected with HPV who was recently treated (by freezing) for HPV on her cervix, and foreplay took place, could it be spread to her partner?

I'm a 33m. Having my first G wart outbreak right now. Warts have been removed from my penis and biopsied. The wart we sent in was deemed "non-viral" by the lab...but it was pretty small. According to the lab I don't have hpv at all. My doctor isn't 100% sure, because I had several warts, and usually the viral ones are the only ones that spread this quickly. My doc has told me that if these were viral genital warts, once I'm clear of any warts for about 1-2 years, my body has likely built up an immunity to the hpv, and I probably won't be contagious after that unless I have another outbreak. Is any of this true? Is it possible that I may have a normal life after a couple years??

Well it is true however that doesnt mean that you are HPV free it just means the virus is a sleep. You may not pass it to others this is true, but remember warts can be so small that it is easily overlooked. Men it is almost impossible to test because the ONLY way one can tell is if the wart is on the outter of the penis or anus or what ever. Warts can devolop inside the penis. Or the warts can be microspoic can not see with the naked eye. See the virus lives under the skin that is why it is hard to get tested for HPV because it does NOT go through the blood.
But yes if you are completly wart free for 2 years it is more than likely you can consider yourself wart free (not HPV free it is just the virus is asleep), and it is NOT contagious if you are wart free.....

Yes. Just because one gets it clipped or frozen or what ever doesnt mean they are instantly HPV free (you will never be HPV free) well better yet wart free. If she recently got it done dont be surprised if it comes back in a month or even sooner. Warts grows really quickly. I would wait for 2 years (totally wart free) to even feel comfortable, and even that doesnt mean it is done for good, because it can come back.

Hi, it's Shaken again. I have a follow up question. Yesterday, I went to see a nurse practitioner who is an expert on HPV too. I told her I had a skin-shave biopsy of a wart on my penis, and the pathology lab was able to determine that I had a "keratoid or keratosis" wart, and they found no trace of "std-viral" material. The lab said it was the kind of wart old people get on their faces...I had a wart on my neck where I shave that kept bleeding before I knew it was wart at the same time I got this one on my penis. The NP said, if the lab actually had this wart under a microscope and couldn't find any std-virus, then it's pretty much verified that the wart is not an STD. I did have a couple other possible warts/irritations coming in near it, that I had burned off, just to be sure. And now everything is healed and gone.
So my question is: "With a negative std biopsy and no new warts forming for months since I had these removed, can I consider myself std-free? Or does a wart of any kind on my penis mean I have a contagious STD and I should assume I'll infect anyone I'm with from this day forward?

I NEVER heard of that before. I mean I know warts that are on the hands face or whatever is a strand of HPV however THEY are NOT contagious like the ones that are on the genitals.
I know once it goes to lab it takes a few days to get the results (come to think of it I believe it took 2 weeks before they said I had HPV).
I dont know I never heard of a wart growing on the genitals that was NOT contagious. just wait until the lab results comes in to worry about it.

Thanks for the reply. I think there was a little miscommunication. I got my biopsy results back a month ago, and the lab said the wart on my ***** was negative for any STD Viral HPV. My doc said all warts are contagious, yes BUT there was a possibility I spread this wart from my neck to my own genitalia, instead of acquiring it from sex. The wart sample was a bit smaller than he would have prefferred however. SO, the only way to know for sure is try another biopsy if I get another wart.
BUT You more or less answered my question...As far as you know, a wart of any kind on my ***** is an STD, correct?
