How common is it for an STD (like warts) to be misdiagnosed and confused with something else?
My Dr said I had folliculitis - not warts - and I pretty much believe her. I say pretty much because she never did a vinegar test. But a have a few REALLY red spots on my legs, and one had a head to it but I popped it and nothing came out, just a teenie amount of blood.
Things I have read on the internet say alot of time doctors can be wrong in their diagnosis (they say its folliculitis, its really warts or herpes).
Anyone have any experience with this? Thoughts?
I'm not trying to scare anyone! Just curious!

Well just keep in mind that doctors are NOT miracle workers but they are in "pratice"....Doctors are humans so they can make mistakes.
I was misdignosed a few years ago...I couldnt breath I had sharp pains in my chest...I went to the hospital...and the doctor there said I was hallusanating (sp)...I didnt do drugs, or drink or anything...well the next day I went to my family doctor they took and x-ray and they were surprised I was still walking...they said they would have given me three days to live if I didnt do anything about it...what happened was my heart was enlarged the sack around the heart was filled with fluid...it looked like I had three lungs...(had a thought I could sale my x-ray and say I have proof that there are aliens lol lol jk)....
anyways doctors are known to be wrong...but the chances are them being wrong is very low...

Well you're doctor is probably right on this one. HPV warts generally do not form on the legs etc. They prefer the moist tender skin on the genitals and anus. Also warts are not red and do not pop.
