if i am a virgin, and my partner is also, what would a condom do for us other than the pregnancy issue?

This is only my opinion, so please don't take offense to it. First of all, the question has to be asked...how do you know your partner is a virgin? The first thing to remember when becoming sexually active is people do lie and people do cheat. Can you be 100% positive this person is not going to have intercourse with anyone else? If not, then I think the use of a condom is very important. All it takes is one time for them to become curious and sleep with someone else, just to come home and share with you what they may have gotten. Unfortunately, this is reality and it happens everyday, even in marriages. Secondly, you say other than pregnancy issues. Are you ready for that kind of responsibility. If you aren't going to be on birth control I really advice some kind of protection if you don't want a baby. Take it from me, the pull out method doesn't always work. I am a single parent and I thought my son's father and I were soul mates. I found out the hard way. Please don't do the same. Good luck in whatever decision you make, but remember it's no one's job to take care of you and your health but yours'!!!

If you are both really virgins, then condoms are not really needed for STD prevention. However, it does happen where one partner will cheat, catch something, and give it to the other unsuspecting partner. Happens all the time, actually.

Thus, lots of people who thought they were in a trusting relationship have gotten infected with all sorts of things. Don't be sorry - start off with condoms and keep using them until long after you are sure you can trust your partner.
