I was just wondering if there is anything that can resemble the symptoms of herpes? Maybe other things that aren't as serious? The reason I'm asking is because the symptoms for herpes are so broad and general that one can experience these things caused by something else.
Also a question I've been asking forever but can't seem to get a clear answer is.... I know it's possible to get herpes even if u wear a condom because it doesn't cover everything. I understand this, but what I want to know is as long as it doesnt rip wouldn't the covered area be safe? Ok now assuming there was skin to skin contact wouldnt that area be infected? or is it possible to get infected in one area and have an OB in another area that didnt make contact? Because if I have herpes Im having an OB on the glans (area covered by a condom) and there is no physical signs of it anywhere else on my genitals.

Hi Confused. Yes, there are other things that can look like herpes, such as jock itch, a heat rash, razor burn, allergic reaction, the list goes on and on. I know that HSV resides in the nerve ganglions (sp?), and that outbreaks can occur anywhere in the area covered by boxer shorts. However, I am not positive that the first outbreak could occur anywhere, or if it would occur where the virus initially entered the body. There is a great Herpes board on here, why don't you repost on there? I'm sure you would get a definite answer very quickly. :)
