the color in the polish is staining your nails-the only solution i know of is to not wear polish or just wear it on special occasions-this is the reason i stopped painting my nails-i was told once this wouldn't happen if you put a clear coat under the polish but my nails still turned yellow-you might want to try it

The stain is the result of wearing dark pigmented polishes. The surface of the nail plate has absorbed the yellow color from the color spectrum. to rid the nail of this discoloration, simply purchase a 3-way buffer from your local beauty supply house and buff the stain from the surface of the nails. Use all 3 sides: black to remove the stain, white to refine the surface, and gray to produce a high shine on the nail plate. Buffing in this manner will help to seal the nail plate against future staining. Also applying a good quality base coat will help, but if you are wearing really DARK colors, you will continue to experience staining.

You can soak your fingers in milk for about 20 minutes, it feels a little strange, but it works wonderfully. In future make sure to use a clear base coat before applying nail polish.
