My skin is so dry and gets even worse when the weather gets cold. What works best for dry skin??

I use Neutorgena light seseame seed oil. You can buy it at places like walmart and they usually have it where the bubble baths and bath salts are. Right after you bath or shower smooth on a few drops while your skin is still wet and let it air dry. You can also put several drop into your bath water for soaking. It works really well and makes your skin soft. Be careful not to use very much though or you will feel greasy. One bottle will last foever.

Does it work better than body lotion?

I think it does. But I still use lotion. I saw at walmart yesterday that the sesame oil now comes in a lotion. It a little pricey(not too bad). I try to use the oil about ounce or twice a week, then I use a regular lotion the rest of the time. I started using the oil a few years ago. I needed my skin to be really soft because I was wearing a strapless wedding dress and knew people would be touching my shoulders and arms all night. It worked really well. Plus its nice to add to your bath water for soaking. Also, try to find a good moisturing body wash, one thats creamy(caress, dove). I'm also thinking about trying aveeno lotion to use as others have recommended. But the oil is still the best for days when my skin is really dry. I hope this helps.

Right now I'm using the Bath & Body Works creamy body wash but I am still going to consider trying the sesame oil.

Try this - it's a god send for me. Take your regular body lotion, mix it with liquid glycerine that you buy at the pharmacy...about 1 part glycerine to 4-5 parts lotion. It will not stay greasy, and just use your lotion as usual. For my face, I use glycerine mixed with plain water as a spash before I apply my facial lotions or creams. It works wonders. Good luck!

Can you use the glycerine as a facial cleanser??
