I was just curious as to... if anyone knew why a 20 year old would be getting white hairs?? I just recentily turned 20 and I do have alot of them on the top of my head. (If I part it you can see them) even people will ask me why I have them..
I know I could die my hair, but I was wondering if anyone knew why this would be occuring? Stress, vitamins>???
My dad has had white hair since his 20's could I possibly have inheritied this??
my guess would be that you did inherit it..

heredity can play nasty tricks, you will probably be premature gray but alot of people look fantastic with that gray white hair ...all the best

Yep, you inherited it. My x-husband, like your dad had grey in his 20's. In fact, one time when he was 26 he was on his way to an operating room for minor surgery and the nurse brought him back to his room because she thought she had the wrong guy. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
My son who is 20 has about 20% grey. He started getting them in his teens. The other son, 22, seems to take after me without any yet.
Sadly, dying it is your only option. That's not that bad. My husband wishes he had hair to dye. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif You will get people who mention it to you as if you didn't already know. Ignore those people. It's rude to point out things that people wish they didn't have such as grey hair, extra weight etc...

I dont think it would be that bad for a male to go grey, but I am female! How in the world am I going to survive?!? My the time I'm 25 I'll have a full head of white hair!! (it's not really grey, its white and really brittle)
Isnt dying your hair bad for it? I thought if you dye it too much it turns nasty and you get lots of spilt ends? Well I guess thats my only option!!!
It couldnt possibly be malnutrition could it, or stress?
Thanks though guys...

Dying your hair does make it more suseptible to damage, but if you're not using bleach it's really not that bad...I've highlighted my hair way too many times, which ended up trashing it, but since I've been doing all one colour, back to my warm dark blonde, my hair hasn't changed much from that. You just really need to take care of coloured hair. Maybe if you isolate those specific white hairs you can save yourself from dying the whole head...or see a professional and get them to figure something out!

yeah i know... some ppl do have white hairs in their teens i know 2 of my friend does too. One has a lot more while the other has a few but not that noticeable.
About the dyeing part some people look better when its dyed i wanted to but i have jet black hair and bleaching it which is bad to some or change it something warmer is gonna probably damaging my hair even now it kind of sux lol.
And i dont know but IMO i see more dyed hair people with better looking hair i guess they treat their hair really nicely.
