I'm sixteen and my hair falls out. Not like the normal couple of hairs. But, like I run my fingers through my hair and 10-20 hairs fall out. And when I take a shower there is hair all over. And it's not like it's dry and breaking of it falls out of my scalp. Anyone no what this problem is? I have to hair my hair up all the time because too much hair falls out during the day. Please help.

Humans lose 50-100 hairs a day. It's likely normal. I have very long hair, it's not going thin but it sure is all over the place. It's in the drains after a shower, in the brush etc.

Hi. I've noticed my hair falling out more too! I run my hands through my hair and a good # (10 or 15) of hairs come out, but this is several times a day. I am in perfect health, but I was wondering if it's lack of a certain vitamin? Weird...it's very annoying especially when you hate hairs in the shower (like I do)...ew. I do have pretty long and thick hair BTW.
a biotin deficiency can cause hair loss..but from what i have read that type of deficiency is rare..thyroid problems also can cause hair loss...another cause is decreased estrogen production...

I'm seeing my Dr. soon for this problem also. I have been on and off the pill this year, and when I went off in June I began loosing hair like crazy! My nails are also crappy too. I also had lost a good amount of weight about 2 years ago and have not lost a single pound for over one year so I am convinced that it is either thyroid or hormanal related. Take everyone's advice here. See your Dr! I waited too long and I have noticed a big differece in the thickness of my hair and now I am panicking.
