I have a father and brother who have both greyed early in life, about age 20 they started. I am now 25 and have some how been blessed to not have the same problem, but I am starting to notice grey hairs. Does anyone know a vitiamin or natural treatment for reversing or slowing this process. I have heard of a lack of copper in the diet can cause early grey just wondering what everyone else had to say??

I'm 50 and grey, but a young face (due to years of taking vitamins and healthy habits). Was kidded in high school about starting to turn grey. Tried all the various vitamins that are supposed to help, with no success. I suggest you look at it as a positive, as I do now. Richard Gere doesn't try to hide it.

I'm actually jealous of you! I've always thought it would be rather glamourous to start greying early! I'd suggest that rather than trying to cover your gray, you embrace it and flaunt it! Let's be honest, in a crowd of people under fifty or so, you're going to stand out and turn heads. Try talking to a beauty consultant at a salon or a beauty store, like Sally Beauty Supply. They can recommend some products that will help keep your new gray hairs healthy and non-brassy colored. Soon, you will be nicely silvered, and the envy of all your friends!! Good luck! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif

I have been going gray since my early 20's. It runs in my family. There is nothing you can do or take that will stop the gray from growing. Personally, I think gray hair on men is totally sexy, but I have yet to see a woman on which it doesnt make her look older than she is. Yes, I have seen some very striking, beautiful gray haired women (usually in a magazine ad). But IMHO, I believe they look older than they truly are. It all boils down to personal choice. My choice has been to color my hair, despite that I have to do it religiously every 5 weeks. I have been tempted to let it go gray, but at 45 I'm definitely not ready for that. You have to do what you feel comfortable with and what makes you happy.... Embrace the gray and go with it, or cover it up, just feel good about yourself!

Sorry ladies, but from a guy's perspective, I think all women look better when they color their grey hair. For the guys out there who intend to leave their hair grey, I read in a magazine once about the importance of color in fashion for men with grey hair. I've experimented and tend to agree. Basically, good colors are black, white, charcoal grey, dark or deep colors. Avoid pastels and light grey, as they tend to make your hair look washed out.

Just last within the last year, Ive noticed some graying. Mainly in the temple area, unfortunately I was hopeing that I would have the 'gray shade' as my maternal grandmother had,, white! NOT, mine are so course and very gray, YUCK!~ Ive never processed my hair in any way. Im also a liscensed cosmetologist yet do not wish to practice the trade due to an unfortunate circumstance that happened right out of beauty school. Yet , I wonder, will it begin to gray all over in the flip of a night or am I just going crazy over this age thing. To color or not, my issue is that I dont want some fake colored hair, i prefer it to be naturally color, yet not the monotone look. I have hair to my bottom and to go to a well reputable salon would cost me both arms and legs. HELP

I started graying in my late twenties. I cover my gray with haircolor. There is nothing on the market right now to reverse it, but L'Oreal is doing research right now for a melanin precursor. Not sure when we might get a hold of it though.

I started graying in my 30's. I color my hair because I can't stand the thought of being gray. I look old enough as it is and I don't want to look any older.
