Yes, I have another post, about yet another problem (refer to my member name :P).

I am 21. I started getting a receeding hair line when I was 20. It has gotten so bad now, and I'm thinning on top, I am almost FORCED to shave my head due to the embarassment. Now, this may or may not be linked, but I have also started to lose my libido around the same time. I know this is a Skin, Hair & Nail Problems forum, but there wasn't one titled Skin, Hair Nail & Sex Drive Problems. My question is: Am I just aging too fast? It is EXTREMELY difficult at my age to live life with a minimal libido. And loss of hair on top of that.

Please help http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif thanks.

My uneducated guess is that this is not medically linked. Either the loss of your libido and your hair is a coincidence, or the loss of your hair is affecting your confidence and libido.

It sometimes pays to check these things out, though. It's possible that you could have a hormonal imbalance of some kind that could affect both your libido and your hair to some degree. If you're worried, talk to your family doctor. He/she could run some blood work and/or refer you to an endocrinologist (which is a specialist who works with hormones, if I remember right) who could run some tests. Those tests might be expensive though, but if it eases your mind, it may be worth it. Good luck! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Also, mention your loss of libido to your doctor whether you are interested in a referral or not. The doctor may have some tips for you on reviving some of your libido. I doubt medicine is the answer at your age, but there may be some other methods of reviving libido that your doctor could tell you about.
