On the recommendations of some posters on this board I got jojoba oil and used it on my face at night only - after using it for two weeks my skin is an oily mess and broken out. I can't blame any other product for this since I've only used my regular cleanser which I've been using for over six months with no reactions or break outs. Has anyone else broken out from using the oil??

If you are allergic to 'bean' oils, you will probably have a reaction to Jojoba; however, it will not "cause" acne - it will bring to the surface any underlying accumulation of sebum in order to clear out the pores. After these pores have been cleaned out, you shouldn't experience this anymore. If your face is an "oily mess", you are probably using way too much of the jojoba oil - all it takes is 2 - 3 drops for the entire face and neck.

I too have been using the jojoba oil for the last 5 days. Ive had some really nasty bumps that were deep in the skin come to the surface. Im thinking this is a good thing. I may be broken out right now but I think this jojoba oil is doing the trick and bringing all the blemishes to the surface. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes the jojoba oil to bring all the stuff out to the surface?

The length of time it takes for the jojoba oil to break down the build-up of hardened sebum depends entirely on how deep within the tissues the sebum lies. It all depends entirely on the severness of your particular 'problem' and how religeous you are in proper cleansing and application of the jojoba oil.

I'm going to start applying a couple drops of jojoba in the morning and at night (already started tonight!) and I'm going to try to keep this up religiously! I'm a little worried about everything being brought to the surface (I can feel under my skin some yet-to-be-developed cystic pimples) but I'm willing to suffer for a short while (hopefully short) in order for my skin to look good this spring/summer!

I'm hoping it won't take too long for the jojoba to do it's work. I'll let everyone know how my skin is reacting within the next two weeks.
