After a vacation to Brazil over 2 years ago, I was diagnosed with scabies. The symptoms fit very closely with scabies- that is, very small bumps on the skin, usually where a hair folicle comes out, and predominantly in the warmer parts of the body such as the inner thighs, genitals, as well as folds of the skin and on the hands. INTENSE itching, which is usually worst at night.
Anyways, after about 2 months of repeated treatments with elomite and another medication (forget the name) the symptons went away- for the most part. Every once-in-a-while (maybe once every other month)I would get an isolated bump on my skin, but they were isolated and didn't really itch.
Now, 18 months later, all of a sudden the symptons flaired up really badly. I went to the doctor, was re-diagnosed with scabies, and retreated it. But, like the last time, the symptons have not gone away weeks (5 weeks)after the first AND second treatment. I took ALL the precautions, such as washing every item of clothing and putting it through 2 dryer cycles on high. I even bought RID spray to treat my furniture matresses etc.
So my questions are:
A) Is it possible that this is not scabies at all, is there any type of allergy or other condition which has similar symptoms
B) Is it possible that these symptons are a reaction to a more common parasite, such as dust mites?
Thanks.

I have had a lot of experiences in the past that have proven to me that a lot of medical doctors are total idiots. I lost my father to one of them. I would DEFINITELY get a second opinion, you might have something other than scabies, a rash, an allergy, anything. Good luck!! :)

Your situation sounds similar to mine. These suckers are hard to kill. What gives me relief is the following: The combination of Neem oil (four drops three times a day) and Turmeric (1.5 tablets three times a day). That worked - no symptoms but when I stop treatment completely, I feel them coming back a few weeks later. That happened twice. I am presently taking arsenic (also homeopathic). I haven't tried any of the following: Qwell, Acticin, malathion, invermectin, stromectol? You might try them. I think these little buggers live under the skin and even without symptoms - lay dormant. Two week lifecycle - year right.
