I have lots of mosquito bites all of my body and it's extremely itchy (probably have infections from scratching already). There seems to be two new ones appering every day. Does anyone know what kind of ointment I can use on them to either stop the itching or make them go away? This is much appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure they're mosquito bites and not flea bites?
I'm pretty allergic to flea bites and swell up like you describe. They itch like crazy and are very hard to see. One way to know if they're fleas is that most of the bites would appear on your legs.
In any case, if they are infected you can get an antibiotic ointment at any drugstore that will help a lot. Also, try taking an antihistimine such as benadryl. That may help the itching and swelling.

Hello. I live in Hawaii and there are a lot of aphids at school during the spring. Would that help?

Hmmm... I was in vacation in Florida last autumn and I found that
insect bites I received there were very much soothed with taking a good shower
and then taking a 15 minute break lying under a soft down comforter bedcover...
just rubbing the body all over in smooth fluid motions...
The lymphatic system of the body is greatly assisted by simply rubbing
the body, and moving the body completely...
The lymphatic system, of course, is known to be very active in
relation to these kinds of skin issues with insect bites, and other
red and inflamed things.

I currently reside in a very dry climate in the Rocky Mountains and
we only have difficulty with flying insects in the few short months of summer.
And, I find that I can prevent them coming inside my apartment in great
numbers by buying cool burning lightbulbs - these new spiral flourescent
things...
In my naturalist observations - I see that insects seem to have death rituals in their
societies - hot burning lightbulbs seem to be gathering places for this
endeavor of theirs - but they won't even come inside around here if you have
cool lightbulbs...
By the same token - someone who's always swatting mosquitos - might
be the one pestered most by them...

I agree with Lindarella, it's possible they're flea bites. Fleas just eat me alive and the itching is unbearable, it gets so bad it's painful.
I think prevention is the best policy. Do you have any pets at home? If so you might want to fumigate the house with some flea bombs. But if they are mozzies then whenever you go out put on some insect repellant. Make sure at night you keep the doors or windows covered with a flyscreen.

If you still having problems, which I suspect/hope your not, the best solution I've found is running very hotwater-as hot as you can stand-over the place you itch. You can also get anti-iching creams, which is basically topical Benadryl.

I worked on the garden yesterday and was in the bushes for quite some time. I have bites all over my right leg. My goodness, they iteches like crazy! I like Lindarella's explanation that they could be flea bites. I saw no mosquitos. I thought I am having some kind of rash. I will try some ointment as you folks suggested and will let you know. Many thanks for the advise.

Lavender oil works wonders. Yes, unless you are crazy about the smell of lavender, the oil can smell a bit strong. But it numbs the bites really well, so they don't itch - and it lessens pain if you've scratched them too much. Lavender oil also dries up the bites, so they heal more quickly. And another bonus! - lavender oil can actually repel mosquitos, so you're less likely to get more bites while wearing it.
NB: Get proper lavender oil that can be used on the skin - not imitation smelly stuff that you use as incense or the like. At around $8-$10 Australian for a small bottle, it may seem a little expensive, but one bottle will last you for years (depending on how much you use it of course). Don't overdo it - just a few times a day - too much and your body won't like it (just like anything else).
You can believe me on this one - I live in a wet, tropical, coastal area of Northern Australia and we are swarmed by mozzies all year round. Good luck with those annoyyyyyyying bites! :)

Hi.I had some bites on my feet last year and I thought it was fleas,it turned out to be a type of exzema(which was strange because I had never had anything like this),the doctor prescribed a mild cortizone lotion,it worked and it hasn't returned.During this time I checked out some information on flea bites and other insects that leave itchy bites.I found out about a bug called a chigger,I don't remember much about it but apparently the bites occur when you are in the garden in grassy areas,bushes etc....also they are very small making it next to impossible to see them biting you.Anyway ,it might be worth it to check out chiggers on the net.Good luck!!!
