CrazyJoe 07-14-2003, 02:18 AM How long did you use rogaine for? Are you male? female? You need to give Rogaine at least 6-8 months to judge its effectiveness. upshutter17 07-14-2003, 04:39 AM I'm a female, and I used it for a long time. I remember reading that it does take 6-8 months, so I followed those directions. hilery79 07-14-2003, 05:06 PM Hi~ I have also been losing my hair recently and I'm only 23. I used to have very thick hair and now it's very thin. I, also, have clumps of it fall out in the shower and when I brush it. I had a baby a few months ago and have heard it could be caused by that. Another thing that can cause hair loss is an underactive thyroid. There is some sort of shampoo that my friend told me about that can help. I can't remember the name of it, but you can get it at most salons. I'm going to give it a try. Good luck~ Hilery upshutter17 07-14-2003, 09:50 PM Thanks Hilery79, but I'm 18 and my thyroid is fine. I had it checked. My doc sent me to a skin/hair specialist, and that bonehead said he doesn't know what it can be.He made me take so many tests it's not funny. They all came out fine. AHHHHHH! I hate losing my hair! I am so embarrassed! Upshutter ColoradoTrail 07-18-2003, 06:02 PM You might want to try ThymuSkin. It worked for me. I like it because it doesn't have the side affects of Rogaine. Here is the Website: http://www.thymuskinshampoo.com/ stockboy 07-18-2003, 08:16 PM That sounds like an advertisement upshutter17 07-18-2003, 09:42 PM Thanks ColoradoTrail. I actually am thinking of ordering some. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Upshutter ------------------ ~I am but one small instrument~ [This message has been edited by upshutter17 (edited 07-19-2003).] kehcorpz 07-19-2003, 03:36 PM If I were you i'd go to the doctor and get my thyroid checked. Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism can both make your hair fall out. I know that when I use triiodo-l-thyronine(t3) during cutting cycles(dieiting), I lose a lot of hair until I get my thyroid pumping again and then it grows back as good as new http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif kehcorpz 07-19-2003, 04:07 PM Whoops didn't read that heh sorry. Wilsons Thyroid Syndrome is one of those thyroid conditions that most doctors can't identify, look up on it and see for yourself. My mom had it yet no one knew what was wrong cuz her thyroid levels looked fine. Originally posted by upshutter17: Thanks Hilery79, but I'm 18 and my thyroid is fine. I had it checked.
