i just peicced my nail (drilled a small hole in the white area of my nail and put a jump ring for jewlery macking through it) and i was wondering what if any damage this could cause (note: i did not drill any skin)

I don't mean to sound rude but why did you do that? Was there a reason or anything?
Sorry, I've just never heard of that before.

Did you apply the jump-ring into your natural nail, or through an artificial nail? Makes a BIG difference! If it was through your natural nail, you need to be careful not to break the nail at the point of the jump-ring hole. If it was through an artificial nail, it will be much stronger and the hole can be fillled in at your next visit to the salon. If you want to do it again after the original hole has been 'filled', you can simply drill a new hole and attach the jump-ring.

For the girl who wanted to know why she did this -- it is NAIL ART and is done through the free edge of the nail so she can attach a dangle charm.
