i started smoking in pot in college. i liked it sooo much after about a year and a half i was smoking everyday, sometimes two times a day. i have big stomach problems i.e. IBS and i feel bloated all of the time. i have addressed my stomach issues many times since i've been in 1st grade. tons of specialists, diets, med's, etc. pot was the first thing (of course b/c it plays w/your mind) that allowed me to function on a regular basis w/out having to be in the bathroom all day. i would just take a hit at a time to relax my stomach, my bm's, etc. i need help. i am now older and married and my husband does not agree with smoking. i thought i could stop, but now i am missing work, functions, etc. where i normally could take a hit and a 1/2 hour later, be fine. is there anything out there (legal) that is like pot in that it relaxes your body or stomach. i get over-anxious and i am a worry wort sometimes, and i think my nervous system mixes badly w/my digestive system. ANY SUGGESTIONS??????

I don't understand why you are looking to replace a medication that is so effective for you? Because your husband doesn't like it? Marijuana, although currently illegal in most of the US, is THE most effective and non-toxic treatment for any type of nausea/digestive type symptoms that currently exists. I know, I've tried them ALL! I've had CFIDS/FM for 11 years, the first five being the worst, and for months at a time I would have constant nausea and vomiting, along with the pain and multiple other symptoms. The "legitimate" medications I was prescribed did NOTHING for nausea, and THANK GOD I finally discovered marijuana. Honestly there were times I can say it literally saved my life. Medicinal use of marijuana is a valid treatment for many things, without the harmful side effects of toxic pharmaceuticals. I live in California, where Proposition 215 legalized the use of marijuana for a number of conditions including AIDS, cancer, IBS, and many more. Please don't let the negative or uninformed opinions of those around you prevent you from living a more pain-free and FUNCTIONAL life!
Good luck and take care,

Lisa- I so appreciate your views and your opinions. i have felt this way for a long time and have told many doctors of my experience with the herb. no one seems to understand, and no one seems to understand the discomfort either!! Your opinion is greatly appreciated and I feel much better that someone shares my views. My husband is a problem. He believes in the "legal" drugs and thinks the doctor knows best. How do I live with myself and pick drugs over my husband. He smoked back in college just for fun and he thinks of it as a bad drug like cocaine or something. i have never experimented w/any other drug. I was so satisfied with the medicine i had found in weed. When we got married I decided that I would give up weed like I said. I thought I could cope. I don't know how to let my husband know how I feel. We are in the years when we are starting to entertain the idea of children so he will think it will damage them in someway. Funny, not like the "legal" drugs would damage me in anyway. It sucks the way society has made it acceptable to put foreign things in your body that have side effects and long term problems???? Anyway, thanks for your words of wisdom. It's nice to hear someone agree with my view on this matter instead of some doctor who thinks what i'm experiencing is not THAT bad. They haven't a clue!
