As I said, I just turned 50...Well my hair is thick brown ,short at this time, with natural wave . What is a good style for me to look nicer,or ok,younger???? Please any advice is really needed...I am older than my husband ,and would just like to look nice. I am dark complected ,meaning I tan easily .
Thankyou...
p.s. I posted this on other hair link also, I 'm desperate.

I think you should try thinning your hair out a little and using a straightener. A lot of people straighten it and flip to ends out. Try a golden brownish/dark blondish highlite. It will look great with tan skin. You can also try some long wispy bangs, those are defintely coming back. Lots of layers will make your hair feel lighter, give it more body and it will absolutely style better. I hope this helps!

Thankyou for your advice. Sounds great. Do you think letting my hair grow to like shoulder length and then with your suggestions would be flattering??? I get tired of really short hair sometimes. Thankyou..

It you have enough body in your hair, then shoulder length would look great, especially for the winter months to come. I just suggested short because most people complain about lack of body. As long as you feel comfy in it, it'll look good!

What is the difference between highlighted hair and frosted Hair???

They are very similiar. However, I think frosted hair is only color on the top and highlites are more professional and all over the hair.

"Frosted" hair is pulled through a cap and then bleach is applied to the exposed hair. "high-lighting" is where specific strands are lightened with a color mixture and 'sandwiched' in foil. Highlights are much softer than frosting as frosting can just make the hair look grey.
Also, the length of your hair depends on your face shape. If your face is long and thin, opt for a soft, whispy bang and layers around the face. Don't let the hair completely cover the sides of your face as this can leave unwanted shadows on the ares of your face you don't want to draw attention to, such as around the eyes and the mouth. BTW, I am turning 55 on the 18th - I have always worn my hair short because of my facial shape. I have also let it grow out to its 'now' natural color of SILVER. My face looks much softer with the lighter color than when I was coloring it my 'old' natural color of red.

I went to the salon ,and got a good layered cut. I decided to go with one color. (dark auburn) It looks really nice. She layered all except the bottom end to let grow to shoulder length. She thinned out my hair a bit as she layered. It feels so light now. I bought me a good teasing comb to style the top front. Thanks everyone for all of your advice and tips. I think with my skin color I will stay with the dark auburn. She showed me a sample of the dark brown like my natural color, but I told her that I thought the dark auburn would give my hair a warmer look than the dark brown. I am very happy with it.
