twinkletoe 08-06-2003, 11:46 PM hey guys, any suggestions on how to get rid of ingrown hair on my legs...oh and all the scars ..thanx Debbie_80 08-07-2003, 10:32 AM I get a lot of ingrown hair from waxing, and I have many scars and it looks really ugly. Does anyone know how to remove the scars or make them less visible? Vlasik 08-07-2003, 10:37 PM For ingrown hairs, try Tend Skin lotion. As for scars, I am sorry but I don't know what to recommend. Audrey-B 08-09-2003, 10:34 AM I have read that antibiotic cream is good for ingrowns and redness after waxing. As for the scars, i'm not sure, but Vitamin E cream is supposedly good and rosehip oil. It's supposed to help sores heal faster too. bgirl 08-10-2003, 10:21 PM Jojoba oil contains Myristic Acid, which is a anti-inflammatory substance, it is very good for inflammed red skin, and ingrown hairs(also arthritis and rheumetism). This by no means will get rid of ingrown hairs,it may cut down the time spent healing the damaged skin, shaving creates many ,tiny little cuts on the skin, they are so small that no blood is visible to the human eye ,this might be why ingrowns happen, the skin heals over and the hair follicle is trapped. Jojoba is also rich in Vitamin E and is a anti-oxidant. Another must do ,if you are prone to ingrowns,is buffing your skin in the shower and I mean everyday(gently of course). This will stimulate new skin cell growth and get rid of dead skin cells. One last thing, the majority of body lotions and skin products contain dubious at best(I mean really people, Propylene Glycol, why do we need a anti-freeze in our skin lotions and hair products?,etc...) ingredients, look for products at health food stores(check the ingredients, even they carry some dubious products),make sure there are no pore clogging ingredients in them.If you want to really get rid of ingrown hairs ,consider laser hair removal,it worked for me, no more ingrowns!!!Good luck http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif |
