Ok, this sounds really strange. I woke up the other morning to find this hard bump midway up my neck, it feels like a mosquito bite and is hard to the touch. It has not increased in size at all... yesterday I happened to notice on the side of my neck quite a ways down I have a nickel sized lump that is squishy and moves around, it almost feels like an enlarged lymph node or something. It is not painful, I dont have a fever, I dont feel sick, the skin is not reddened at all, its not growing in size, etc..... well, tonight when I was taking a shower, I noticed another squishy lump right behind my ear this one is also about the size of a nickel, and all these lumps are on the same side! Could a mosquito bite cause lumps above and below the bite, or do I have something wrong with me like a virus, infection, etc? Has anyone else ever had anything similar to this happen to them? I just dont know if it's my body's way of trying to clean up the bite, or if there is something else going on..... any advice anyone has would be great! Thanks

This is so weird you brought this up because just a couple days ago I noticed the EXACT same thing on my neck! I only have one, but it's exactly the same...not growing in size, not painful, not red, just a small lump under the skin that is almost like a cyst...I'm not sure if that's what it is or not!

I don't know. :/ I am kind of worried though, and am thinking if it was something more serious, I would be sick or something. It's just strange that they are all on the same side of my head and don't know what could be causing them. From what I have been reading, they sound like lymph nodes, but I have no clue as to why they would be enlarged....

If they don't go away within a couple days, you should have a doctor take a look at them. Then at least you can stop worrying. :)

I think I might go to the doctor about mine soon because mine isn't going away. It isn't getting bigger either, but it just isn't doing anything! And I thought it wasn't visible to anyone else, but today two of my co-workers throughout the day both noticed it (my hair was up in the ponytail) and thought it looked like a really big mosquito bite. I am pretty sure it isn't. When I looked up related topics on the internet I kept getting all of this freaky information about cancer. I just want it to go away!! Have you gone to a doctor yet?

No, I haven't seen a dr yet. I am a nurse and work at a hospital and have had some co-workers take a look at it, because its hard for me to see being two of the bumps are behind my ear and neck, where I can't really see. They are gradually getting smaller, and am pretty sure they stemmed from a bug bite or something that irritated the area. If they are not gone by the end of the week, I am going to have them looked at... I'll update as soon as I can.

My brother had those behind his ears on both sides. He went to see his Dr. and it turned out to be clogged glands. But you should have them checked anyway cause they are right around where the lymph nodes are.

Hi happylush, i was wondering if u ever went to the doctor to get that lump check out? because these few weeks if found myself having those type of lump u describe.. it only appear on one side of my neck. and they are squishy and moves around and is under my skin.. i jst search the net to try figure out what it is.. and i found this healthboard.. and i was wondering if i should be worry abt these lump.. it never use to be there.. untill this week. so is there anything i should worry abt? should i get it check out? i'm kinda lost and worry...

I have not gone to have them looked at yet. The one behind my ear has considerably shrunk, but the 2 on my neck are still around the same size. I am waiting the weekend and will call monday to make an appt if they are not any smaller. I would watch for other symptoms such as a fever, sore throat, fatigue, nausea/vomiting, headaches, etc... I will let you know what I find out....

Hey.. have u been to check it out? I have.. i went to the doctor a while ago.. he told me to go get blood test and xray.. and started asking really funny stuff like if my family ever have anyone that had cancer and stuff like that.. and he also gave me some i think antibodic.. how ever u spell it.. and yea.. i am gona have to go back and see him in three weeks time since i last went. he said is probably some where in my body that have some infection so that y there lump.. and he also say that it probbaly will take a while before it go back down.. and there relaly nth we can do or sth like that.. i duno.. but i probably find out the next time i go see him.. and like there no phone call what so ever abt the blood test i did.. so yea.. i dun really know what happening.. but i'm pretty sure is nth.. so if u havent got it check out.. u should.. jst to be on the safe side. take care.
