My hair is short right now,but trying to grow out. My hair is thick,coarse,and I ususally have it layered ,because everyone says that is best for this type hair. My hair also has natural curl to it,but not too curly. Can I not ever let my thick hair grow out to one length and it look good? I miss being able to do this and have it just shoulder length or a bit shorter and bouncy with one length. I am 50 years old so maybe I am too old for this anyway. I am getting ready to get my hair done and maybe highlighted so I dont know what to do. Please tell me your stories and experiences. Thankyou

I have long natural curly thick hair...i dont get mine layered anymore to thin it out...I now have it thinned from underneath...I also have grown out my layers...by getting it done this way...hope it helps you in the future...as i just found your post today...good luck

Hi! I've heard a lot of good things about ceramic straighteners. Let me just say right now that they usually cost like $100 and over.

They're supposed to be better for your hair than metal straighteners are are supposed to lock in the moisture. I've read reviews on them where the person has thick hair and stuff, and it makes their hair all smooth. Um, just type in ceramic hair straighteners (sp.?) or ceramic hair straightener (sp.?) reviews or something like that.

Or have you heard about that Japan hair straightening technique? I think it can be quite expensive though. Well anyway, if you get a chance please post about what you think!

I have one of the ceramic flat irons. I was very expensive one, but it is amazing how flat and straight I can get my hair. You have to be very careful and not hold it too long on there. It's a chi brand I think and my hairstylist got it for me because they don't sell them in the stores, but it's made a world of difference in having "big hair". Just be ready to spend way over $100 plus for it. The cheap ones don't work.
