Yo,
I'm 18 ad have several moles on my back/arms, chest, and worst of all, my face. I recently went to the dermatologist the toher day to get them cecked out. He assured me that they were completely benign and unharmful. Wow, what a load of my chest. I preceded to ask him to remove them. He then gave me some bad news. Because my moles aren't cancerous, removing them would be considered cosmetic surgery, which my parents medical insurance does not cover. Remvoing them would cost a fortune. I was shocked, I was looking foward to getting these ugly things off my body. I walked out of the office in anger and being very depressed.
I came right home from the der. office and started looking online for some alternatives to getting rid of moles. I did find one or two like garlic(I read if you put garlic on a mole for 3-4 days it would disappear..but why would you want to smell like garlic for three days?) and a special kind of pepper. Well I've been searching and searching and thought I'd ask around and see if anyone knew any home remedies or products that remove moles. My moles are very tiny(about the size of a end of a pencil point) but there's a lot of them on my body. I would GREATLY appreciate it if you guys can help me out with this. Does anyone know ANYTHING that might remove moles? I just don't have the money, nor do my parents right now. PLEASE HELP! Ask around to your neighbors and parents. Please help me out.
Thanks guys, I appreciate your time.

hello i read ur post. i---about acouple of years ago had my moles removed (one around my shoulder and one on my neck) ---my mom got me the appointment cuz the moles were unpleasant and sometimes got in the way and were irritating. anywayz it's this laser treatment thing. and i don't think it's considered cosmetic surgury. it only takes about 5 minutes to remove the moles that you want (well, thats how long it took me) and then they send them to be checked to see if they are "bad" moles. but like u said---that yours aren't. anywayz u should probably check into some1 who does laser treatment and i don't think it costs that much anywayz. if i get more info then i'll post soon. :)
hope this helps :)

I've been checking around to other Dermatologist and my insurance doesn't cover laser treatment which is considering cosmetic surgery if the moles aren't cancerous. Anyways, I was hoping someone here knows of a simple home/folk remedy for removal of non-cancerous little moles. Hopefully someone does. Please help!

other than the laser treatment then there is really nothing u can do to get rid of them. otherwise using maybe something else to try and get rid of them could be dangerous. sorry. hope it all works out. :)

Yeah I've heard of Blemish-Be-Gone. I'm a bit skeptical about ordering stuff online. If only there was simple secret home remedy! Maybe remedies for warts might work for moles...like putting a wet asprin or bananna peel on it. I'll try anything at this point!

That Bio T thing sounds tempting, but I would consult with a dermatologist first if possible. I've just had so many skin cancer scares that I'm afraid it would aggravate my condition and cause my normal moles to turn cancerous. Please keep us posted, Rice Boy and let us know if it actually works. You have to be careful of online advertising, but for all the moley people of the world I hope it is effective. I'm so sick of having biopsies every 6 months that leave horrible scars!
Good luck,
Kitty

Actually, I read in a home remedies book that if you use aloe and keep applying it throughout the day, or night as often as you can, and keep a bandaid on it, the mole will just fall off w/no scar. Never tried it myself, but the book had testemonials of several people who used it.
If anyone tries it, let me know if it works (the book said it may take a few weeks.)

I just wanted to add that... even in the dem. says the moles arent cancerous doesnt mean he knowns what hes talking about. I went to my doc. and told him I wanted moles removed because I thought they might be cancerous he told me he didnt think they were and he would remove them just to be sure. So I dont see why your dem. refuses to do it.

I had a mole removed on my back about 8 years ago (I'm 29 now) and my insurance paid for it. It was really dark black. And I was also afraid of the cancer deal. So I told my derm my concern and he went ahead and removed it and then once it was out he tested it for cancer and thank God it was benign.
So I would demonstrate your concern to your doctor. Although mine first said it looked normal I was not satisfied with that and went ahead and removed it.
Either way,
Good Luck

Another way mole removal may get covered by insurance is if it is in a place where it gets irritated by a elastic waistlines, bra strap, clothes, if it itches or you scratch it, etc. Try telling your general practitioner they are really irritating. He may do it in his office.

Hi all! I have a mole about the size of a pencil eraser on my cheek and I am really self consius. I need a way to get it to go away on my own. My parents won't let me get it removed. I read on here that aloe vera is supposed to work. Can anyone testify to that? It would be sooooooooo great if it did work. It would definatly be a prayer answered. It is weird because i have looked all over the internet for a way to remove it at home, and couldn't find one. Then I was praying really hard for God to help me and then i decided to search some more and this just came right up. Then later on i have been seeing aloe vera everywhere! I know, maybe I am just paranoid or whatever, but i feel it is a sign. I'm going to start using it right away, and I was wondering if anyone knew if it really worked? Thanks so much! let me know of you know of any other remedies! Thanks!

I had a mole removed earlier this year. The dr. was an Ear,Nose, Throat specialist. I had actually gone to take my young son in to get his ears checked (he had ear tubes). The dr. finished with my son and turned to me and said "Your mole needs to come off. It has hairs growing from it." I told him that my insurance doesn't cover cosmetic stuff. He said that if it has hair growing out of it, changes shape or size, it's not considered cosmetic. How do they know it's not cancerous until they biopsy it?

Hi, JaniceS and everybody,
I used to get moles and skin tags removed by my dermatologist and my insurance paid for it because they were considered, "potentially cancerous", meaning that they were likely to become malignant in the future. So the removal was considered preventive medicine. I had pretty good insurance, and my employer may have chosen to have our benefits to cover the removal because I worked at a cancer research center. This was 5 years ago. I moved out of state, and I now have a different job and different benefits. My new dermatologist told me that insurance companies are no longer covering the removal as preventive. My suggestion to everyone is to call your insurance company yourself and verify your benefits. All insurance plans are different and it is impossible for any doctor to know exactly what any individual's plan would cover. Also, if you feel comfortable, talk to your benefits manager at work about getting coverage for it. They don't always know what the employees want or need as far as coverage goes.

Wow this is an old thread.
It breaks my heart to read how others are suffering with these things like I am too.
I just e-mailed a dermatologist today before reading this thread.
I have been too scared to talk to any one about them for years.
But I just lost my job and thought I at least have to try before I loose my insurance completely.
What about the mental anguish?
These things will drive you crazy?
I think that aloe Vera can not hurt but I do not know if it will help.
Remember that aloe is a plant, and that different products contain different amounts of aloe.
PLEASE do not spend a lot of money on any remedy with out first asking a doctor.
It would break my heart more if someone were to do the wrong thing because they are desperate to remove a mole.
I know the feeling though because I am desperate too.
Hopefully I will get a response to my e-mail.
I knew a kid whose father was a doctor.
This father removed all the child’s moles no mater the size or how they looked.
I do not know what I am trying to say… but it left an impression on me.

to all those searching for a way to remove moles without surgery, I am your savior! But i must warn u, it ain't that great. just read on.
Riceboy who posted mentioned Bio-T and New Skin. DO not use New skin. it wrecked my skin and gave me a few cyst acne which i am still left with red marks. they're fading though...
Bio-T is what works. it really does. i thought at first it doesn't. the instructions isn't exactly correct. what u have to do is kinda use a knife or needle to peel off the outer layer of skin on ur mole. u have to put the ointment so that it actually contacts the mole. if not, it will never reach it through the pores. if u do it right, u will feel a sting for a good 20-30 minutes. it doesn't hurt too bad at all, maybe cause i'm a guy. after that wash it off and the next few days, u will see the mole die and dry up into a scab. later on, it will just come off. Sounds real great, right?
Well, i do no know if this is because I'm Asian and have skin thats prone to hyper-pigmentation, but the scars that were left became brown. They are fading day by day. in fact one of them which i did a year ago is turning unnoticable. I don't know if White people could avoid all this scarring/browning problem. Another thing bad is u will be darn surprise how big the mole is hidden underneath ur skin. Think of the mole as a ball hidden in ur skin. the part that's showing is the tip of the ball. sometimes, after I do the Bio-T thing, I am left with a brown scar that's 3 times the size of the original mole. so u decide, a solid black dot, or a large brown spot? Good thing though, is the brown spot will fade VERY SLOWLY (i.e-a year or so). Plus maybe white skin could avoid alot of scarring.
yes, all u ppl here can thank me for saving u money and fighting insurance to pay for ur mole removal. Please send me ur money which would be otherwise spent on ur derm. LOL!

GTI, I was just wondering about what size were your moles and how long did they take for the mole to "die"?
GTI
08-21-2003, 10:19 PM
it does not matter how large the mole is. it takes the around the same time to get it off ur body. its just the scab which takes longer and MOST OF ALL the scarring. smaller ones can fade so much faster while like i said there's this one mole i took out (3mm in size) which took more than a year to fade. i could still see the coloring and it gets red when i take hot showers. like i said, 3mm mole would end up being 5-8mm scarring. so u pick ur posion.

I had a mole on my neck, and every time I'd comb my hair it'd be in the way, so my Mom brought me to the doctor and he removed it. Then I had a few around my waistline, and he removed those as well, in his office, 'cause it just looked better in a 2 piece swimsuit and then I wouldn't have to worry about them anymore. I like that idea of putting aloe vera on them. I have really tiny ones now near my waistline, hardly noticeable, but I'd rather they weren't there. Aloe vera seems the harmless way to go.

Hello, a bloodroot salve will work very well on moles and warts. A good health food store might have it otherwise you can find it on line. Be careful because it is a poison if taken internally. As long as you had a doctor verify it is not cancer, it is find to use. Dr. Weil even recommends it.

Ok, I did that Bio - T thing too. I was really untrusting of the stuff at first. I had two big raized moles on my chest and torso. After 5 days of applying the bio t to each mole, the both fell off. But the scar left wasn't all that good. I bought some Mederma Scar repair gel, and hey, that works too. Now you can barely tell there was anything there at all. The only bad thing, I can't use this on any facial mole I have. You can, but I wouldn't recomend it.

hey everybody....i got pretty much the same story as sillysally....a light mole on my cheak. i cover it with concealer and powder (eyeshadow). i plug the hair.
i have been looking for an alternative natural remedy since quite a long time.
the garlic didn't work for me. it tired it for 2 weeks.
I tried the New Skin and it didn't work for me...but i only had the sample...not much to do with that.
I have been using Castor oil mixed with baking soda.
i did it before and i think i had noticed a change in the skin /mole (like dryness) so i thought i would try it again...but i keep interupting the whole procedure by not putting it on.
i had bought bloodroot powder and the guy in that store said to mixe it with glycerin...so i bought the two...i saw no change after 2 weeks.
i had also read black ointment paste would do it.
i tried that for the longest...4 weeks...nothing!
but the paste is good for skin and scars so it wasn't really a waste.
i e-mailed the bio-t people quite a while ago..but they are not recommending me to use it on my face.
i will certainly try the Aloe vera.
anymody successful testimonies??
thanks to all.

Why would you not use it on your face? Because of the scarring? BTW, did you just apply Bio-T directly onto the mole without having to "use a knife or needle to peel off the outer layer of skin on ur mole" like GTI said?

BioT will actually take out the Whole mole, and it will take about 5 days. During those 5 days the mole will sort of buble up into a white, unhealthy looking thing. You are not supposed to touch it, and genally leave it covered. After 5 days the white bump will fall off. Leaving a crater, that will fill in in about a week depending on the person and the size of the mole..... After then you will have a blood red mark that will fade slowly...
If want to forgo this on your face, sure, it will remove the mole... but honestly, just get the thing lazered.
ps, Mederma works on these post mole scars.

Thanks, Memnoch, for the ingredient list. I have to research it to see what the active ingredient might be. Glad to hear it works. There is a lot of validity to alternative remedies and often different things work for different people. So sometimes you just have to experiment.
