Hi, If anyone can help that would be great!
About 5 weeks ago i noticed that the skin on both my eyelids had become quite dry. The areas are also a little flaky and red. This is the only place where this dry skin has occured, and its a little bizarre! I thought that maybe as it is winter where i live, that it might have something to do with the cold climate, or maybe its from using a different soap. I have tried using and eye moisturiser on my eyelids but it hasnt done anything yet!

What I think you have is Blepharitis, My daughter gets this in the fall. Usually the doctor will tell her to wash the eyelids in diluted Johnson's baby soap. The doctor we go to will sometimes want her to take a round of antibotics to clear it up.

Thanks for that. I had a look at a few web sites that have information on Blepharitis, and they all seem to say that there is crusting and flaking along the base of the eyelash line and the eyelashes, crusty eyes in the morning, and that it is associated with dandruff. But my lashes and lash line are normal and I havent ever had dandruff. My dry skin only seems to be further up, like where i apply eyeshadow. Maybe I have something else? i think that I might try the baby shampoo solution, and if thats no good then go and see a doctor.

Its funny you posted the dry eyelid problem. I started having the same problem about a week ago. My right eyelid is dry, flaky and itchy. The skin of my eyelid seems "stretched out"..maybe from scrathing it so much....Very bizarre.

ladyB - have you switched anything in your makeup routine? different eyeshadow? different soap? moisturizer? You may have a sensitivity to one of them or one of their ingredients. Though far from a professional, I'd recommend taking it easy on the soaps as they will increase the dryness. Try a mild soap like Cetaphil. If possible, don't use makeup for a day or two to see if it helps. Cetaphil also makes a cream which you might try to moisturize. It's fragrance free. It doesn't sound like Blepharitis; crusting, stuck lids, etc. Hope you feel better.
