Does it hurt to clip them yourself? I have a small one on my right inner thigh, I wouldn't bother with it but it gets irritated when wearing pants or shorts. What is the best and painless way to take care of them at home. I don't have insurance so I can't afford to have a dr. cut it off.

Ohhhh oHHhh MAN! PLEASE do not cut it off yourself!
You could end up with an infection or a big big scar!

its not a big tag its little actually, so it wouldnt be a big scar if there was one. I just want it off because it gets irritated when wearing jeans or shorts that rub it. its has a very little part that hooks it to my leg. anybody got any ideas? couldnt after cutting it with sterilized clippers couldnt i apply antibiotic ointment to keep away infection i mean its not different than if i accidentaly cut it while shaving is it?

Just sterlize the clippers, your hands, and the area around the skin tag before you cut. Then clean it daily with hydrogen peroxide and apply antibiotic ointment, and keep a bandage over it for a couple days. But be prepared for it to hurt and maybe bleed a lot when you cut it off. You could try applying ice to the area before you clip; that might numb it some.

I just remembered reading that you can tie a string around it at the base, and it will fall off in a few days.

thanks for the advice now just to get up the nerve to do it LOL. Ill try the ice probably to numb it. Hopefully wont bleed much more than cutting your leg when shaving.
