I have really bad scalp odor. If I wash my hair on a Monday morning, it will smell great the rest of the day. However, if I don't wash it on Tuesday, it stinks by the end of the day, esp. my scalp. Oh my god, IS THIS NORMAL... ????? What do I do????
I wanted to add that I don't have any other problems. My hair does not itch or fall out. Is this normal, the smell ? If not, what can I do to get rid of it. I went to the doc, and he said I didn't have any hair infections, but I just feel that it is not normal for hair to smell that bad the day after you wash it, is it?

Is your hair oily? Also, do you change your pilowcase every day? Fabric is notorious for absorbing 'smells', and could be the culprit for the smell of your hair - also, you might want to think about getting a new pillow and covering it with one of those plastic pillow covers before putting on the pillowcase.
You can also rinse your hair with a mixture of 8 parts water to 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider vinegar. (8oz H20 to 1 tablsepoon vinegar) Pour it through your hair after you have shampooed, and leave it in. The vinegar smell will go away after your hair has dried.

Thanks Marti,
My pillow cases are always clean. I tried the vinegar thing, it helped but the smell is still there. The second day after washing I am so embarrassed to be around people for fear that my scalp will start smelling and I hate washing my hair everyday. Please anyone have, had a similar problem with any solutions?

how do you wash your hair?
I mean, do you scrub your scalp? the whole purpose of shampoo is majorly to clean the scalp. Make sure you dont neglect massaging shampoo into your scalp.
Also, make sure you are rinsing all of your shampoo out. Old ladies typically have this problem and I know that is what makes their scalps smell.
