Has anyone ever had skin tags removed from your armpits. I have about 50 of them in one armpit. The DR says just to leave them alone for now but I keep getting more. How do they remove them.????I had a small one removed from my neck just by cutting it off. How would they do so many??? Does anyone know.
PS: I am a man--if it was a woman would the DR say the same thing....How would a woman ever shave there with so many.

Save your money instead of having the doctor remove them. I know this sounds awful and painful but just get a nail clipper and cut them off. This way wont hurt you or your wallet.

I'D LIKE TO REVIVE THIS TOPIC! I have one of those skin tags in the area under an eye. Has anyone had any experience with this condition (in the eye-area) and any natural remedies? (OUCH to the nail-clipper idea).

My husband has numerous on his upper neck, but he doesnt shave and has a beard. The skin tags still bother him and he'd love to get rid of them too so how to remove them would interest him. I'm curious on where they actually come from? I once heard it was due to some people's high intake of dairy products. He did used to drink a litre or so of milk per day, but surely it can't be due to this?

Over the past few years I've noticed a lot of these little buggers growing around my neck. Every time I see my GP I get her to take some off. All she does is use liquid nitrogen and they fall off in about a week, with no scarring.
These are the tiny ones I'm talking about. Bigger ones you would need to get them cut out (I've had some done this way too).

I had one removed from my underarm a few years ago. The doctor numbed the site, cut it off and the cauterized it to prevent it from returning.

I have never tried this, but I talked to someone at a health food store the other day about the problem. She told me about something called "Casada". I think that is the way it is spelled. Anyway, it is a castor oil and baking soda combination. I was asking for flat mole removal. She didn't know if it would work for me, but she said it has been shown to work well on skin tags. hmmmm...who knows.

My dermatologist once burned one off. Don't remember much about the details as it was years ago.
A doctor years before that cut one off.
So, there are different options.
There was one on my chest that bothered me, so I got some dental floss and tied it tightly around the base. After a few days, it dried up and fell off.
Didn't hurt!

I think there is a difference between skin tags and seborrhic keratoses. Seborrhic(don't know how to spell) keratoses are commonly referred to as growing moles. Both of my parents have these, so I know I am going to get them. I do the nailclip thing too. I use a magnifying mirror and clip them off. the ones I take off are very tiny, and there is little bleeding and pain. The trick is to get them before they grow. If you do have the big ones, I think liquid nitrogen is used to remove them, but you must go to the doctor for this.

I had 15 or more of these on my eyelids. I went to the derm and she removed them. The most painful part was injecting the numbing meds in each one. But I was so anxious to have them removed I did not care. They have not come back and that was several years ago. Good luck

I only have a couple skin tags but I'm really afraid of getting them removed. My mom's even an RN and knows how to do it, but I'm afraid that the larger of the two will bleed and scab (it's big, almost the size of an eraser). Is cutting it off at home really that good of an idea? (ps, no health insurance here, so seeing a doc isn't an option right now).

I also had some taken off my eyelids by my opthalmologist. I agree, the needle was the painful part! I had no scarring whatsoever.
JenRose, I do not recommend home removal for such large moles. You will need to get a doctor to take them out. If you get your mum to do it you might end up with huge scars and it may look even worse than the mole. Can't you just wait until you can afford a visit to the doc?

Jenrose didn't ask about moles, she asked about skin tags. Of course you should never mess around with moles; a doctor should look at them to make sure they aren't cancer.
But a skin tag is no big deal. Jenrose, why are you so worried about having one bleed and scab over? Haven't you ever had a scab? Who cares? You have a scab, the skin heals, the scab falls off. No skin tag! Have your mom cut it off, put on a bandaid, and forget about it!

Try tying a string around it and wait for it to fall off. It will eventually, but it might be tricky to tie it aroung something so small.

I have used wart removal on small skin tags (neck and underarms)and it was painless and easy.

How do you know if it's a skin tag or a mole? I have a couple under my arms that kind of 'hang', rather than laying flat. Is that a skin tag?

Im glad that someone has posted about skin tags because I have some on my underarms and I also have one that I just noticed on my neck, what wart removal did you use? THANK YOU SO MUCH! Now I may be able to finally get rid of these and wear tank tops, tube tops, dresses :)

There is something called Chromium Picolinate, which apparently when in some indviduals, causes the tags to disappear. There also might be a connection betweeb skin tags and diabetes. I got my first "tag" several years ago in my late 20's. Thought it was warts and used Compound W. Funny thing is that it worked!
Now lately, I noticed that a few are forming in the same areas plus new ones. Namely my groin and eyelid. Trying the Compound W again and see if it works a second time. Apparently ALOT of people get these (don't know what percentage) and they become more common as we age. Nice thought. They are suppose to run in families but as far as I know, no one in my family has them.
So hope this helps and if anyone else has some info, please post.......

Interesting you state could be linked to diabetes. I sufer from hypoglcemia and my wife hyperglycemia. We both have lots of them. Would like to hear from others who may be in same situation.

Mmm - I can't remember the name of the wart remover I used but I bought it over the counter at a pharmacy (UK). I should add that my skin tags were pretty small ones and I was very very careful not to get any of the remover on the surrounding skin. I used it on tags under my arms and on my neck.

I tried some compound-w on my skin tags, and ouch ouch ouch! It really stung and now they're all red and swollen. Think I'll try that Bio-T stuff instead.

I have removed them with tightly tied sewing thread, but it does need to be tight enough to cut off the circulation. if they are big enough it can pinch a bit, but it doesn't take that long to die, infact if it has cut the circulation off for an hour, it probably doesn't matter if the thread falls off. cut off the thread ends to neaten it and it is less likely to get pulled off too soon.
Small skin tags I just pull off, they bleed slightly, thats all.
I have also had them removed from my eyelids and I agree that the injects hurt, then its fine, though if they are cauterised its a bit horrid seeing smoke coming off your skin! :) There is no lingering scarring at all.
