I started using witch hazel on my face and it seems to be shrinking my pores. A friend said to not rinse it off but I noticed my skin a tad too dry. If I rinse it off, will it still be effective?

Witch Hazel is much like alcohol and is drying to the skin. It will help to remove excess oil from the skin's pores, which make them appear to be smaller, but this effect is only temporary. Once the pores are naturally replenished with oils and moisture, they will return to their original shape and form.
Apply the witch hazel with a lint free wipe such as gauze pads, leave it on for up to 10 minutes, then wipe with another gauze pad that has been dampened with water. This will remove the witch hazel from the surface, but leave it in the pores.
