Has anyone not slept in 24 hours? Its been awhile since I had sleeping problems. Now it seems to be back with a vengeance! The night before I only got 3 hours of sleep. You would think that after having a night like that, you would sleep like a baby the next. But that didn't happen. I've used Ambien before and simply refuse to use it again. I've been experiencing some stress lately, and feel my sleep problem is directly linked to that. I just wanted to know if anyone else just didn't sleep for 24 hours. I have begun my quest to eliminate this stress that I'm dealing with. I'm going to kick up my workouts and try to read a boring book before I sleep. Any other suggestions besides meds? Please respond... I fel like I'm all alone!!!

You are not alone, I've done it many times. Ten years ago I acquired my sleeping disorder. I do not know why? My sleep pattern is usually 3>4 hours of sleep a night. Sometimes I can get 5>6 hours and on those days, boy do I feel good and lucky!

Vallerian root seems to help me and I don't get a drug hangover with it.

Hi Kristina,
I used go sleepless like you during my days at schools. This was during the exams. Unfortunately I also didn't sleep enough the following days, because of the others exams that followed this. This became a habit or so and I could go sleepless, due to worries not just about studies. I used to stay awake untill 3 or 4 in the morning because my mind would never stop thinking. I used to wonder if I was the only person in the universe facing like this. Sometimes i used to get irritated also. I have this problem for more than 10 years. Also tried to avoid drugs, don't know why? I try to sleep earlier like 8:30 or 9:30PM but can't until 11 or 12 every day. I need atleast 10 hours a sleep, otherwise I am very dull, stressful next day, like you.

Hi Kristina-have you tried "white noise"? Turn on the tv or radio, very low. It tends to stop your "brain chatter" which is most likely keeping you awake. Treat yourself as you would a child, no overstimulation before bed, soft music, dark room, etc... Hope this helps.. Kay
