I don't know you like your Dr. but there are a few different types of insomnia. The one I'm familiar with is because the neurotransmitters in the brain are a little haywire. This could be because of the previous prescriptions or the bipolar itself. You need to get those neurotransmitters back in line. I'm sure the Dr. has tried , but if you are doing something that he is not aware of, say eating 15 candy bars a day (just kidding, meant as an example), getting your diet more healthy would help considerably.I suffered from chronic depression until I got rid of excess sugar and bread; I thought I was eating OK, but getting rid of that kind of junk made a huge difference. Bipolar disease is something else and more complex, but anything you can do to eat better would help. Then again, your problem could be from another reason entirely. Also there are several natural remedies. I get a lot of help from valerian or GABA. Check out amino acid therapy. It's all natural, and shouldn't interfere with your meds. The vitamin stores usually have a large alternative medicine book you can look at. Just my .02. Good luck.
