Hi everyone, is their anything wrong with taking Tylenol PM to go to sleep at night? Some nights I can't sleep for different reasons and I wanted to know if this would help. If not, is there something I can take so I can get a good night's sleep? Thanks.

Try a shower with lavendar oil after it. Don't take in any stimulants the second part of the day. Drink something soothing, and read something that will put you to sleep. You could do the shower and lav. then lay down on your bed and do muscle tighting excersizes, do you know how to do these? Get plenty of liquids a day.
I'm going to guess that your a girl with your post name, and I suggest taking two non-carbonate calcium tabs or caplets, 1/2 hour to an hour before bed time, if you can find the kind with the magnesium in it, that's even better. They help each other. Also take a vit-c with bio in it. Or you'll need to take it with food with vit-c in it otherwise, to get the total mg of c your taking. Ester C has bio in it. This is what I told my mom to try, she swears by it.drs :)

It doesn't work that well for me..never has. I used to THINK it did, and took it all of the time on an everynight basis. I guess my body became addicted to it and I would get a headache if I didn't have it. Actually it would make me more awake than asleep. Everyone's different though, so maybe it'll work for you.. :)

Since it's been a month since you posted, I hope you have gotten some sleep. Tylenol PM contains the antihistamine Benedryl. It does work well for a lot of people.

I sometimes use something called "Equate Sleep-Aid", that I get at Wal-Mart. It's like Tylenol PM, without the Tylenol. It's diphenhydramine (sp?), which is what is in Tylenol PM. You are supposed to take 2 pills, but I only take half of one, and I sleep solid for 8 hours. I only use them when I absolutely have to, though. I checked with my pharmacist, and he said they are not habit-forming and are okay to use from time-to-time.

Tylenol PM works for me for 3 nights. ON the 4th night
it makes me restless and gives me a headache; in other
words, it only works 3 times then it's a nightmare.
I've been reading about Passion Flower today. You can't just go on a search engine and find it everywhere to buy, for some reason. But I will find some and try it.
