For those of you who feel their ambien is not working as good as it use to,, try adding one aspirn (325mg) tab with your ambien. It works great for me I think it has something to do with the aspirn thinning your blood.
Also a buddy gave me 2 xanax for exchange for 2 ambien,
so that night i took 1 ambien 10mg and 1 xanax .25mg together,,,,, and wow it was a cool feeling, I sleept for a very long time and sleept good.

Aspirin lowers body temperture which is sometimes helpful in encouraging sleep. Be careful with Ambien and Xanax. They are both very addictive despite what a doctor will tell you. Type benzo withdrawal in your search, and a list will appear. The first on the list, a website from the U.K., is very good.

The thing is, both these drugs work good for awhile and then one day, they don't anymore. Tolerance to sleep drugs is very bad because the brain takes a long time to make natural sleep again, and the pills will not work, or only work a little. Best to taper off and find other ways to sleep well, like vigorous exercise, milk, good diet, no alcohol or cigarettes. Also, have a physical to rule out sleep bandits like thyroid disease. Common OTC drugs and herbs could cause insomnia as well as some prescriptions so check them for sources of bad sleep too. Otherwise, alot of patience and time to let the brain learn to sleep on it's own again.

Also, mixing two CNS depressants like Ambien and Xanax together is a bit dangerous, especially if you start needing higher doses later.

Milk...... thats right I also remember if I drink a glass of milk with ambien it seems to aid in falling asleep faster. What is the longest anyone has been on ambien?

You say aspirn lowers the body temp? Thats strange because someone can take caffine (200mg), effriden (25mg), and asprin to help raise the body temp as burning body fat. this stack will help those who cannot stay awake during the day, especially if you work in a hot factory where it is easy to fall asleep from heat exhustion.

The longest I've taken it is 5 months. I'm currently taking it again and my doctor says he is willing to prescribe it indefinitely. No, he's isn't some quack doctor, he's one of the most respected doctors in the Seattle area. Interesting about the aspirin, I'll have to try it some time.

lucky for you makeitstop that your doc will perscribe for ever. the reason i tried aspirn was because my doc is wanting to take me off it so i broke a 10mg amb tab in half and took with an aspirn, i thought it worked pretty good. But a buddy of mine tried the aspirn also and it didnt work for him, i guess everyone is different. I have been on ambien for 1.5 years, so mabey I do have a tolerence by now, but I wont stop till I have to.

Snapp, did your doctor tell you why he wants you to stop taking it? That would suck after 1 1/2 years.

Hey Snapp, I tried an aspirin with the Ambien, but didn't really notice a difference. It still works quite well for me though. Sometimes I take 1/2 and other nights none at all.
