As a longtime ambien user, I began to experience a lot of muscle pains, especially in my back and arms the next day. Extreme tension and hard to relax my body. The pain was terrible and only calmed down after my nightly pill. I have not heard about anyone with this side effect. Has anyone else gone through this?

nope never noticed any pains the next day from taking ambien. try an aspirn with your amb since aspirn is a pain releiver it may help ease some muscle pain.

Tried asprin and motrin many times.Been off the amb. for 4 days and pain was much better right from the start. Now I just can't sleep. Oh well, I'm gonna give it some time.

Hi Freddy,

I am a long time temazepam user and have lots of muscle pain. I do have a neck injury but it shouldn't be this bad and my doc thinks the extra pain and migranes are worsened by the sleep meds. I am also trying to get off them and also pain meds. I think there is a link between long term use and muscle pain. I often get my back and neck tensing up so much I need muscle relaxants and pain killers. I will let you know if my pain improves if and when I am off them. I have cut down and it has helped a bit so far which is promising. I say keep off them and try to get back to natural sleep even if you do have a few sleepless nights it is really worth it.
