lately, i have been having problems sleeping. i don't know what it is. i go to bed at the same time but i just toss and turn. then of course, i am extremely tired the next day. i don't have this problem during the weekends though, and that may be because i stay up till i can't sleep. but another problem is that i can not stay asleep during the night, i for some strange reason wake up several times. that does not happen during the weekend. i know i am not giving you guys much to work with but if you know a way to fall asleep easier please let me know...

Are you stressed over something? Are you anxious about work? If it's only during the week it sounds work or school related.

Try a cup of tea before bed, not exercising after 7pm, and making the bedroom really dark. I've also heard to not watch TV or read while in bed, but well... You can also try switching pillows.

If it really doesn't go away, you might want to talk to a doctor about it. It could be chronic insomnia, it could be a sleep disorder.

Joslin, by the sounds of it it's definitely anxiety related. You want to get a good sleep, so you don't. I'm the same way. I find that when I get in the habit of doing something for a while than the insomnia should wear off. If not, you might have to look into some sleeping pills. If you haven't tried valerian root, than try it. It's a natural herb that helps you get to sleep. Personally it did nothing for me; I'm currently taking zopiclone. Also, look into medidation or something. I know it sounds silly but it'd be a great way to clear your mind when you're stresses about sleeping.

hey joslin, i am in houston too. Just a thought but allergies are really bad here right now. It sounds like anxiety because thats how my body reacts too, but if none of that works think about allergies bothering you somehow. They have been causing me headaches.
