My husband snores so loud that he actually wakes himself up several times during the night. He has tried the anti-snore nose strips, throat spray, stop snoring pillow and sleeping on his side. He also underwent surgery to correct his deviated septum. None of these treatments worked. He has gone in for sleep studies and they say he doesn't have apnea. However, I worry about his health due to the fact that he never gets a solid nights sleep. I am curious if any of you have tried anything that actually works.

I know where you're coming from--my dad is a horrible snorer, and none of those things you mentioned worked for him either (I don't live at home anymore, so my mom's left alone to deal with it). I don't snore , but I have apnea, so I've read a lot about snoring. One procedure they have for apnea is really to stop snoring (it usually DOESN'T stop apnea). It involves cutting away excess soft tissue in the back of the mouth-uvula, soft palate, and sometimes tonsils. UPPP and LAUP are the procedures, but they are expensive and insurance usually won't cover them. Of course there are also risks. This is last resort. Is your husband overwieght, a smoker, or does he drink alcohol or take medications that cause drowsiness near bedtime? All of these can contribute to snoring, so try to get him to take care of these if they are present.
