Been on cpap for 4 or 5 years.
Fisrt did you have slight headache every morning and also feel a tingling in my hands before you went on the cpap?
The headache could be sinus
Tingling hands not a clue
Call the sleep lab people and ask them.
and keep after your doctor
On a general note It takes a couple of weeks to a month to get use to the mask and 6 month to a year to get comfortable with it. After time you will still hate it BUT will fight anyone that wants to take it away.

I got a bloody nose for 3 times a week after I was tried out for CPAP. Is this normal at all?

No I didn't wake up with a headache before. I also have a bloody nose but that might be because I don't dare try sleeping with the mask without nosedrops. This morning for the first time I slept almost 7 hours with the mask. I woke up with it still in place, but feeling dead tired and heaving. 3 hours later I still feel miserable !

Nosebleeds could be from dry air. Do you have a humidifier for your machine?
Mike having nosebleeds three times a week IS NOT normal you need to talk with your doctor about them.
It takes time to get use to using the machine. I found that the people at the sleep lab were helpful with question about equipment and can be a good go between you and your doctor.
For the congestion the machine causes I use Flonase at night half to one hour before bed. Also us saline nasal spray to moisten the inside of me nose. My ENT recommended it after surgery and you can not use too much. If I have a runny nose and get hard spots I spray them with the saline spray a dozen times a day. And some days I don't use it at all.

I get headaches anyway, but the pressure of the headgear on the base of my head triggers them. Of course, the mask leaks if I loosen it. Does anyone else have that problem?

If you have leaking, I would say you need an adjustment on your headgear or possibly a different style. Your medical supply company should make sure your fit is correct, some styles just don't work on some heads. Don't give up. Good Luck.

I got a zit(?) on the side of my nose after 5 nights with the C-pap. After 12 nights I only felt rested after 2 and the nurse was a bit worried. It seems the effect should come immediately however unpleasant one finds the mask-experience. Any one who had a gradual improvement?
