Can this hiatal hernia be causing my shortness of breath, swallowing problems feels like throat is tightning and bloating, also a full feeling but nauseous and feeling hungry but full if you get what I mean.also is it possible to be causing presure in my sinuses which are also connected to my ears being plugged.also constant thirst. I wouldn't say it is the hiatal hernia itself, so much as it is the acid reflux. The acid can irritate the lungs which contributes to the shortness of breath. Acid can also make its way up to the sinuses which contributes to sinus problems and facial congestion.

In my case, I ended up having to treat the acid reflux, breathing problems and sinus problems all together to get the symptoms under control. It isn't an easy thing to do.

Have you seen a pulmonologist yet? It might be time. My Pulmonologist is actually the one who pushed for stronger treatments for my reflux problems when I saw him. He had me do additional testing for this first thing when I started seeing him.

Yes some how I passed the breath test , but it feels like my bloating is putting presure against my diaphram with short fast exhales I felt like passing out on the test this dosnt sound like acid reflux. Do you have head presure with plugged ears and ringing thoat it might be from my sinuses thanks also do you feel hungry all the time even when your full?

I developed extremely severe breathing problems from my acid refluxing. My reflux testing showed results as bad as any of my 3 specialists had ever seen. (Much worse than typical.) I actually ended up with a Gastroenterologist, Pulmonologist, and ENT/Allergist all treating me for this. Ironically, my PFT's usually came back 'normal' though. Thankfully, my Pulmonologist does a really thorough health history and looks at all options for causes and didn't dismiss me based upon my PFT's.

I'm not saying this to scare you. Just to validate that you could still have reflux problems and breathing issues even if your PFT's are 'normal'.

According to my Pulmonologist, there really isn't a way to tell if it is acid reflux or other triggers causing the breathing problems. They are all lung inflammation.

In the past, with sinus problems I had tons of facial pressure. When I was more congested, I had more issues with the stuffiness and ear ringing.

I had some severe 'stuffiness' and ringing issues a couple years ago. Turned out I'd developed some TMJD. With all my allergy issues, it took me a very long time to figure that one out.

Bloating I did have some. I never had the always hungry feeling though. One of the PPI's I was on really messed up my gut though and gave me some other long-term digestive problems. I'm not sure how much was that and how much was 'typical' reflux issues. I did fine on the other PPI's, but that one was horrible to my gut.

Did you have a Pulmonologist do your breathing testing? Have you had a Barium Swallow yet? It might be helpful to see if the acid is actually hitting your lungs.
