A couple days have past and I believe it is day 6 now and I have no cravings. I guess what helped me is that I don't want to be a smoker, I don't want health problems, and people who don't smoke can be happy and more healthy. My goal is to be healthy and be able to run at least a mile non-stop and I want to enter myself in a 5k run sometime.

I cheated and had two cloves and really didn't like the idea of smoking and was able to put it aside and move on again. My withdrawls are still sort of wierd. Last night I had a bad dream where I had to euthanise an injured horse (I have no clue why my brain dreamt that). I also want to cry at times (no I am not a woman) and I hate when it gets dark outside. Other than that I don't think about smoking a lot, I don't try to bargain my way into smoking another, and I don't whine about wanting to smoke every five minutes. So far I can sleep better now, my pulse rate dropped to 45 beats per minute when rested (I also quit caffeine at the same time), and I don't smell like smoke and the house is starting to smell fresher. I haven't gained more energy or increased lung compassity, I can't smell better, and I haven't started hacking yet. I can't wait till I start hacking up that junk. Isn't that wierd?

Just had to say congrats again on your accomplishment! :)
You have a good attitude for your quitting and I have confidence that you will continue to quit sucessfully.
What you are experiencing sounds completely normal and I too experienced that. Especially the crying part. I happen to be an emotional woman so you can imagine what I went through with that part *laugh* I also quit caffine at the same time! Not only that but other "self-improvment" like excersising and eating better. I feel great!
Remember to treat yourself you are doing a great job. :) Keep it up
Take care,
Lori

congrats Chris,,, I quite a couple of months ago. I haven't had any cravenings there and what is this about hacking up stuff. I have read this in other boards and I haven't hacked up anything. Am I suppose to? My only time I really need a smoke is in the car. It was better for me this time becuase I did not know I had my last cig, and I have put no pressure on myself to tell everyone I QUIT. I just know I did not smoke yesterday and have not smoked today and hope like hell I don't smoke tomorrow. It has worked for me so far..... I wanted to quit this time....... good luck
