Hey everybody, I just wanted to let you all know that I quit on Jan 2, 2002 and decided then that I would start running. Well, I am still quit and just completed my half marathon on Saturday. It has not been easy in any way, and after the race believe it or not, I could have had a smoke. I have gained weight, about 10 lbs, but I am also exercising a lot. I know it will continue to be hard, but I still take it one day at a time. This site helped me out so much. Thanks for all the support.

Debra, Haven't heard from you lately. Sounds like your doing just wonderful. A marathon??? Good for you. Just happy to hear a success story. Hey, we all can have a smoke anytime we want. We just choose not to.

Hey Cozy, It has been a long time since I have been by the board. This board is so great, and it is people like you that make others succeed. Best of luck to you. I am always checking the board, and I'll just say HI a little more often.

Hi Debra and Cozy
Me too! still hanging in there after 5 months 2 weeks 2 days 11 hours 17 minutes and 50 seconds ;)
I also put on weight, had my gallbladder removed last week, ouch! Best part of all is I never thought about having a smoke. I think that I am over the worst and can't imagine ever going back.
A marathon Debra- Hurray for you. I am impressed.
Cozy- good to see you again.
I think we are the 3 that started in January and here we are! Pat your selves on the backs girls, we did it!

Sudzie, You are a sight for cyber eyes. Where you been? I Too have glamorously adorned myself with an additional 22 lbs. ( hubby likes the bigger TTs) I am so happy to see you & Debra Noel here again. Lets try to get others to pat their backs as well. :) Oh yeh, removed gallbladder? Sudzie? You okay now? What happened?

Hi Cozy
I have been hanging around the digestive board helping other people that have to have their GBs out.
I am healing. I am hoping that I didn't get gallstones from my rapid weight gain. But my doctor said we can remove your gallbladder we can't remove your lungs.
I will have to hang around here more now and help others to quit.
The thing that keeps me going is I say to myself "hey you can smoke if you want to pay the money" and I don't. I was in line behind a lady at the store, she bought 5 packs. It was by 3 get 2 free so she really only bought 3, they came to $23. and some change. I couldn't believe it. I have so much more money now. Its wonderful.
