View Full Version : Smoking Triggers

Here is my deal(and I am sure all smokers can relate), I am trying to quit smoking after 4 years. I can usually control it on the weekdays with pure will power(even those first couple of days are a *****!), but when I go out to the bars and stuff I have absolutely no control. I wont buy a pack before I go, but within five minutes of drinking or being at a bar I go straight to a cigarette machine. This is my worse smoking trigger(besides being in the car). I am not ready to give up the bar scene yet though, being that I am only 21 and in college. I would love to be able to go out with my friends though and not smoke anymore. Does anyone have any advice on how to control this? Do you think if I bought the gum or patch just for going out that may help me? Any suggestions are much appreciated, thanks.
