Hey guys, I notice there isn't ever much action on this board. Gosh, I used this thing like crazy when I first quit smoking. I just wanted to update you all. I quit smoking on January 2, 2002, so that makes it exactly 10 months. I was doing great until a month ago. Me and my partner had a pretty big blow to our relationship and I lost it and went and smoked 2 cigarettes back to back. They were horrible, tasted gross, hurt the chest, but I would kill for another one. It was really poor coping on my part. The good thing though is that I haven't had any more. But I sit here and still want one, but I know I am honestly done with it. It is such a horrible addiction. I know it is all a matter of will power, but it really pisses me off that I allow it to still exert such control over my life. Just wanted to vent. For now, I will still continue to make it day by day.

Thought I'd write just to make you feel good about yourself. I quit smoking for about6 months and thought that was it. But after being with my family members(who smoke) and the stress in my life, I lit up my first cig in 6 months. I was so ticked at myself. Here I sit, 2 years later, smoking away. It sucks, I know. I wish I could find something that worked for me but like you said.....WILL POWER! No one can MAKE you stop......you just have to decide to do it on your own. I'm sure you'll start doing better!

Its all mind over matter..........I have quit 3 times. Once for 7 months and then a crisis in my family lead me to smoke one and there I was then up to a pack a day again. I quit yesterday at 5:00 pm. and I am wanting one really bad right now......its tough but I know that I need to do it. Whenever I want one I think of how good things smell when I don't smoke and how awful everyone else smells that still smokes. When you want a cig write down 5 reasons why you shouldn't smoke. By the time you do that the craving will be gone. Good luck to both of you.......hang in there.
