I am posting this here because it may help. I am in the process of quiting. I am doing fairly well but late at night I get the craving and off I go to the store to buy a pack. I smoke 2 or 3 then flush them down the toilet. I have quit several times in the past and I hope that posting this will help me not smoke tomorrow. Then I have one day behind me and do on. I have started going to the gym and working out again as well. That helps during the day. I just seem to get this anxiousness about me at night. I don't know if the anxiousness is caused by not smoking or being bored. I deperately want off of these things and for good. I am 31 years old and I no longer want to smoke. Thanks for listening.

Rob,

I quit cold-turkey myself and all I can tell you is that it DOES get better. A full two-weeks seems to be the magic number, if you can hold on. Part of it is boredom I came to realize, too, so you need to pick up a hobby at night of some sort. I know you said it's late at night, but maybe hop on the computer and play a game or something to keep your hands busy or play cards, bake something, anything to keep you busy until the urge passes. Have you tried medication? I would do the same thing you did -- smoke two or three and then flush the rest. You'll eventually get to the point where that isn't even worth it anymore.
Good luck!!!

KELLY
