Hello all,
Backround: I am 24 year old college student. I have smoked for 5 years. I have recently quit cold turkey about 1 week ago and now I feel like a$$. I am getting dizzy spells, is that normal?
My 2nd question.....I am scared that I smoked too long and that I am going to get lung cancer....is this worrying crap another side affect from quitting the smokes.
please help,
thank you,
Dan

I also experienced the dizziness but believe me it passes. I am 27 and smoked for 13 years and quit cold turkey 3 months ago. I can't believe I don't even think about smoking anymore. I am no doctor but as far as I know, the body will repair itself it just takes time. You were hurting it for 5 years so I think it is going to take some time to get it back to a "normal" state. Hang in there, you will feel the benefits soon.
Take care :)

Thanks guys! It certainly feels like an accomplishment. I live in the chicagoland area and the city has an awesome night life and that is the only thing that is hard is when I go out. But its all in the mind so far so good!
thanks,
Dan
