My husband just had a slight heart attack and was also diagnosed as being diabetic. He has been off of cigarettes for three weeks now. He has been sucking on Lifesavers but this has been putting his blood sugar up. Can you guys offer any suggestions as to what he can try to stem the urge?

Toothpicks help.
Stock-up on carrot sticks.
You can also try some sugarless candies and there are lots to choose from.
My husband loves sunflower seeds to help his cravings.
Hope some of these ideas help!!!!!
Hope your husband is doing better and thank God he quit smoking!!!!!

I saw a great post with a funny idea about this.
But first why not try sugarless mints or something.
For the intense cravings - and this is not my idea, i saw this elsewhere - take a bath or shower. IT's the ONE place where you never smoke. I loved that one, and I am two days away form my last cigarrete yet to have a major panic attack. But when I do, you can bet I'll be in the bath.
