My 35 yr old D has been smoking since 15. I read that
opponents of "getting high" are Lying when they claim
pot causes lung diseases and fatigue. My D has a cough; not a bad one and is Always tired. She has no job; just Ebay. Her 4 yr old son has watched her smoke dozens of times. She has taught him to lie about her smoking and that it's "perfectly ok to do it; just don't tell anyone I smoke." Her BF makes good money so they're ok financially. Thanks,

Well, yes, of course it hurts your lungs. Any type of inhaled smoke damages your lungs, and weed is as bad as or worse than cigarettes because it's unfiltered.

As far as it making you lazy....that's kind of an individual thing and I think it also depends on the potency of the reefer. Sometimes when I smoke I completely veg out and don't have the energy to do much of anything. Other times I get a burst of energy and clean my whole house. Part of it depends on my mood before I smoked, I think. But it shouldn't be debilitating.......I've worked full time and smoked most of my whole life.....the smoking has never interfered with my ability to keep a job or be good at my job. But again, I think it's probably different for everyone. However, if she's a veteran smoker than I would think that she should be able to handle working.

I would have to whole heartedly agree with Lady.

I think that the laziness factor really depends on the person. But if she's been smoking it for a long time, one would think that she would be able to handle the sedative qualities that some pot posesses.

it is not worse then smoking, smoking contains more tar and more chemicals that are added, pot is organic

thanks so much, guys. She's not lazy; I'm just worried about her health, mental and physical. I think she's developing some sleep problems. She does, however, tell me about the "burst of energy" it gives her and how she dives into housecleaning (like I'll be happy about it).
Far as the tar content is concerned, people with ulterior motives are Always saying it's worse than
cigarettes but I don't believe it. Imagine tar packed in a weed? I don't think it's an herb; it's a weed, is it not? Anyway, it stops nausea from chemo and that's a fact. I don't smoke it, ever. But I do like to keep informed of the Truth.

Have you ever seen the resin in a pipe that's not been cleaned for a while? That's tar, as far as I'm concerned.

Kweli, tabacco is organic as well in the true sense of the word. And yes, pot smoking is bad for you in that there are tons of chemicals in the smoke that are not filtered before they reach your lungs. Further, THC collects in the reproductive organs and can cause all kindds of sexual problems for some people. An occasional puff is probably not a big deal but daily use is like hiding from the world. That it is not addictive is malarkey. And if you are a smoker and disagree with me, look up the words addict, addicted and addictive and memorize the definitions and then don't smoke for a week or two.

Okay, rebecca.

I don't think that anyone was trying to bring up the same old tired debate about pot. She came her for an answer to her question, not an editorial.

Let's just keep things to the point, and answering the question asked.

I'd like to say one more thing. Aster asked if marijuana was an herb or a weed.....it is both. A "weed" is simply a plant that is growing where you don't want it to grow. Some people think dandelion is a weed, yet others grow it for it's edible leaves. Some consider goldenrod to be a weed, but many people grow it in their flower beds. There is no real plant catagory of "weed"...it is simply a matter of ones own opinion of that particular plant and the location in which it is growing.
