Nancy,
Just thinking about you as you start your two days of "events." I hope you're EMG goes well and that tomorrow's epi brings you a bunch-o-relief.

Hi Bruce! The EMG went fine. The neurologist was oddly happy to see me for the third time for the same arm. He seemed to think my arm was a bit stronger than pre-surgery, but we'll see how the results compare. While there I made an appointment for next Tuesday to get an EMG on my left leg. I've had a script for it since October, but the headaches and recurrence of arm problems took precedence. I've had a neuropathy in my left foot for years, but it has been constant and more pronounced in its numbness for a while.
I'm pleasantly surprised to find that even with no pain meds or muscle relaxants since Sunday I feel pretty good. The atrocious headache has stayed away, so I am more hopeful that means the epidurals can bring me more permanent relief. The neuro was encouraging about that today.
I also asked him about posterior vs. anterior foraminotomy, should I come to that. He very strongly said that he would want an anterior approach to anything in his neck. So...that kind of made up my mind even more that if more surgery comes, it won't be the NS who did the first surgery that does it!
I'll let everyone know how I handle the pokes tomorrow. Thanks for the thoughts!

Nancy, good luck with the epidural. I hope you are one of the ones, like myself, who at least gets a little relief from it. I had no bad effects to speak of; I even went out to eat at the Cheesecake factory after the first one. Be sure to ask for an ice bag, as icing it will help you feel even better.

Hi Nancy,
Sounds like you had a good day. That would be great if you've gotten stronger over the past year. It's great that you've been able to kick some meds. I hope your pain free state hangs around. Wow, two greats.
Isn't it odd how these procedures just become part of your routine? Pick up the cleaning, emg, wash the car. Tis a strange reality.
Enjoy your epi - may it hit its mark.
